The Reservoir

Our town has a lovely Reservoir...with a 1.7 mile walking path.
The hubs enjoys walking, I have been using my Zinger to go around with him.
We have been experiencing warm temperatures here and the walks have been so enjoyable.
The town has added some pretty gazebos, benches, chairs and bird houses.
There are also some beautiful gardens filled with flowers all around the reservoir.
The walkways are clean and monitored with cameras.

The Sunset Gazebo

I would like to bring sandwiches for our next walk, and enjoy them here.

I have been seeing this Male Bufflehead Duck, always in the same spot.
It has a large white patch on it's head, a mostly white body with iridescent purple and green
on his head which is difficult to see in this picture...

easier to see here.

It is a small diving duck with a large head and a small bill...

and you best be quick, or you will miss the dive all together!

- keep moving forward -

  3. I'm so happy you have your fancy shmancy zinger to get around with Chuck. I know you guys enjoy it there. I've never been to the Brick reservoir. I've only been to the Manasquan Reservoir. One of my favorite places.

  9. I love it when the town cares enough to make parks and walks and other great places for their citizens to enjoy. We all deserve that.

  10. Debbie, you certainly live in a lovely area. We have a park close by and my friend (now deceased) and I use to walk there every week... (and we did bring tea and treats). But it isn't half as pretty as your park. I love the places where you can walk around water.

  13. What a lovely park and lake. Just the right size! The handsome duck is amazing. I've never seen such a breed. He looks like a cloud dressed in a tuxedo, with a shimmering ascot. I want to just reach out and pet him. Talented guy too with the diving. Wonder if there's a school of little fishies in that area if he tends to stay there. Thanks for taking us on your walk. 1. hi linda, i am very lucky to live in a beautiful town. i was born here and have live here my entire life. maybe boring but in a way it's really nice!! this use to be a gravel pit, it was abandoned, a total waste of land. the town purchased the land and created this beautiful reservoir!
