We decided to take a ride to the inlet to see the fishing boats.
Most were parked, the fishermen were busy cleaning and prepping the boats.
We were hoping to see one glide off into the ocean, but none went out while we were there.
The seagulls were busy,
there are always people bustling about on the docks so you can get very close to them.
Great Black-Backed Gull
The largest gull in the world, it is present here only during the winter.
This gull has a notably black back, massive bill and light pink, not yellow legs.
It was quiet and non-aggressive.
Up next, Lake of the Lilies, as it is only a few miles from the inlet.
Hello Debbie,I love the image of the daffodils, which have grown in the brown grass, and those lovely captures of the boats and seagulls.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely weekend.
Hello,
ReplyDeletePretty views of the boats. I like the big Great Black-backed Gull. The Coot and Mallard are both favorites too. Pretty daffodils. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, have a great weekend. PS, thank you for leaving me a comment.
Look at the pretty Spring flowers! And it's so nice to get out for a little ride and see beauty like these birds! I love the Gulls...and that Mallard!
ReplyDeleteMallards do always look happy.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos, I love the boats in the inlet. There is something about little boats that say, 'adventure'! The seagull is beautiful. They seem to have wise eyes. Mallards are amazing with their green feathers. The parrots of the water. x K
ReplyDeleteOh so pretty. I never get tired of the beautiful Mallards.
ReplyDeleteLove those shots of the boats. The birds are always a favourite.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed both the boats and the birds :)
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
Bummer none of the boats went out, I wonder if they have a list of when they go out so you could know ahead of time.
ReplyDeleteSo cool to see the gulls with black on their back, it is amazing how you can get right up to them, they are the easiest birds for me to take pictures of :)
Love those boats! The BB gull is impressive! For photo purposes, it's nice they aren't bothered by humans. I saw a flock of coots the last time I was at the lake.
