Everyone was all a buzz...
the weather channel was going nuts with storm warnings...
people rushed to the food store and filled their gas tanks with gasoline.
Here at my house we prepared for the storm the same way we always do, with a trip to our favorite bakery,
The Scone Pony
It rained Saturday night,
I only know that because there were so many puddles on Sunday morning.
Sunday, here at home - no rain, no clouds, no 50 mph winds, nothing!
We decided to take a drive down to the beach in Spring Lake where the surf was definitely up.
We brought along my new wheels and tested them out on the boardwalk...
When we arrived at the beach, the sky was dark, filled with clouds.
The ocean was angry, the waves were intense, 7 - 8 feet.
Tomorrow,
I'll share some pictures of the surfers, they were out in large numbers, having a blast!
- the ocean stirs the heart, inspires the imagination, and brings internal joy to the soul -
Really nice clouds! It's cool how the sky affects the water. I hope your chair worked out to your liking.
ReplyDeleteThe ocean is majestic, magic .... an old sailor tells you this!
ReplyDeleteCool looking chair!! Glad you were spared the brunt of the storm! Surfers I think live for this type of weather! Great pictures of the ocean too!

Cool wheels!
ReplyDeleteIt was the same here.. cloudy with some light showers. But I heard about flooding in some neighboring towns.
Glad the storm wasn’t bad, Debbie. The sea and sky were fantastic by the look of it,
ReplyDeleteI am so glad that you get to go out despite some setbacks. You are an inspiration . I love those ocean views and the angry waves.
ReplyDeleteDear Debbie!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful ocean landscapes. Great photos.
The ocean looks very mysterious and dangerous.
Hugs and greetings.
Hello,
ReplyDeleteI heard the storm touch down in Rhode Island? I am sure the surfers love catching the big waves. Your new ride looks great, I hope it did well on the boardwalk. Love the ocean views! Take care, have a great day!
Stormy looking clouds, but thankful you were spared the brunt of Henri. That new ride of yours is the 'cat's meow'. Sure hope it takes you everywhere you want to go.
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing trip to the beach! I love storms - esocially the ones that are not dangerous to people.
ReplyDeleteLove your new chair!!!! Freedom! Or at least much closer to it!
Pretty clouds. I am glad you got a new chair. I hope it helps you to be travel around and get out of the house more.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you didn't get to see Henry this year. I still have shudders when you had Sandy.
Love ocean pics... especially when the weather is stormy. And neat chair!

"The ocean was angry, the waves were intense..."
ReplyDeleteReminds me of that Seinfeld episode. The ocean was angry that day, my friends, like an old man trying to send back soup at a deli. 😂
Oh I am so glad that all that flooding I saw on tv was not you. They only say New Jersey so you never know where they actually are when they are showing flooding. How did your chair do on the boardwalk? I hope it helps you to be more mobile and you are able to get out and do more. You sure were able to capture some great pics at the shore. I can not believe someone would go out there and surf. I was so thankful that the storm moved more to the east so that my daughter didn't get hit as hard as she thought she might.
ReplyDeleteWhew! And I thought we had a wild ocean here. I'm so happy that Henri spared you any damage. Your new wheels looks good! Like the sports car version of a chair -- don't go too wild and crazy ))
ReplyDeleteHow do you like that chair? My son may need one some day soon.
ReplyDeletehi ruth, i really like the chair, it is more like a chair and less like a wheelchair. i think it will be wonderful for me as walking any long distance has been a problem for a long time. it folds just like a stroller and is lightweight to place in a car!! google in "zinger", it's a very informative website with some great videos!!
DeleteA lot of action out there both in clouds and ocean. Relieved to know all was okay in your area. Hope the wheels worked out okay on the boardwalk. A trip to the bakery sounds good!
ReplyDeleteSo pleased that 'Henri' didn't cause you damage.
ReplyDeleteI like the look of your new wheels.
Lovely selection of photographs.
All the best Jan
