Saturday Critters ~ 385 ~

We left the house early on Friday and had warm donuts at the inlet.
A quick spin around Lake of the Lilies proved to be quite rewarding with some new returns to the lake.

The turtles are back and there were so many sunning themselves on the rocks.

I saw so many Red Winged Blackbirds...

and this Common Grackle, which when the sun hit it just right, it is iridescently beautiful.

There were a lot of Killdeer...

lots of Mallards...

and 2 American Coots still hanging around.
They are generally gone for summer by this time of year.

And my thrill of the day...

seeing this Male Green-Winged Teal Duck for the very first time.
I took at least 50 pictures of this duck and will share more on Monday!

Friday was an awesome day...
Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

  2. These photos are book quality. Just gorgeous. I have only ever seen a Green-winged Teal once and it was a long distance away. It’s a beauty alright! I love the turtles. There are none here sadly!
