Saturday Critters ~ 330 ~

Mr. & Mrs. Northern Cardinal....they are always together!




I think Cardinals are the most recognized birds at the bird feeders,
both sexes are very beautiful.
Their song is an insistent series of rich, fluty whistles,
"tiu-tiu-tiu-tiu" or "p'dee-p'dee-p'dee-p'dee", 
it's call is a sharp tik.
I usually hear them before I see them, and I see them at my feeders year round.
I think they are so much cuter with their "tops" up!

    The Cardinals are especially beautiful with the evergreen in the background. We're watching the birds from the windows a lot more now! Take care and stay well!

    They are too cute, I hear ours before I see them too, the other day when it was warm they were talking up a storm, probably saying they wanted us to go back in the house so they could eat in peace :)

    I was a Harrold Cardinal in school, but never saw one until college. I hear they have something to do with the memory of a loved one. I believe it, because we saw one when we went to visit m father-in-law's grave. Beautiful photos. Thanks for sharing.
