On a recent visit to Lake of the Lilies only Mallards were there to pose for pictures.
There was something about this image that I loved...
I hope you enjoy it as well.
Sleeping...
No matter the light, this ducks head always appeared blue.
On the other side of the lake, I disturbed a group of Mallards during preening,
they sure do take their grooming seriously!

You captured the colours beautifully, Debbie.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos! How did you take such a pretty close up pics without scaring it away?
ReplyDeleteThese are all magnificent, Debbie, but yes I especially love the first one also.

You captured the beautiful colors of the feathers with your photos! Love watching them preen! Stay healthy my friend. Hugs from Florida, Diane
ReplyDeleteThank you I enjoyed every single one, as they spend the day carefree and especially the two snuggled together. Priceless moments and gifts of nature.
ReplyDeleteLoved looking at your mallards. They seem to have blue heads whereas ours down here seem to be green. And then maybe I am just color blind :) Either way these are great shots, thanks Debbie :)
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful!Hugs!
ReplyDeleteI love that first image. Different but so lovely.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos! I do like the first one...having the out of focus duck in the background gives it dimension.
ReplyDeleteOh isn't he so pretty with his blue head and feathers, it does amaze me how much they clean themselves. The duck in the background with the grass in the foreground is very cool, looks like you had beautiful weather this day!!
ReplyDeleteDon't you love ducks! So charming! Stay well please.
ReplyDeleteHello. I like too that first photo. Mallard is very beautiful colored bird. Have a nice sunday.
ReplyDeleteThose birds are so pretty......love the COLORS!! You're right...they sure do like to "preen", ha ha ha. Hope y'all got out for a drive today. We're all supposed to be "staying home" but we are allowed out to exercise and walk our dogs. Alot of people are taking advantage of it though. It helps so much just to be able to take a nice little drive and see some scenery. We don't walk every day now....and the walks we do are alot shorter. I noticed today they have closed down all our city parks, it wasn't like that just yesterday. Our state parks and county parks and beaches have been closed for weeks, but this shut down of the city parks is new. Do they have your beaches closed down there? Take care of yourself and stay safe.
ReplyDeleteYeS!!! everything here is closed. ALL parks, walking paths our favorite reservoir...the beaches and boardwalks are all closed.
DeleteBeauties! Dear friend, take care of yourself and your family!
ReplyDeleteGreetings
Wonderful photos to brighten our eyes.
ReplyDeleteKeep safe and well
A big Hugs
A lovely series of photographs here, thank you.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
Such pretty Mallards ... I got really confused the first time I saw Mallards who looked blue instead of green. Real birders set me straight!
ReplyDeleteYou got some amazing photos of these lovely Mallards. I think their colors are beautiful and you always capture the best moments.
ReplyDeleteYou are amazing! Sending hugs!
Beautiful are your photos that you have made of the duck!
ReplyDeleteDebbie - if I didn't know better, I would think these ducks are doing a bit of yoga! Great, entertaining shots! Stay healthy and enjoy your week ahead!
