The Paperwhites

This year I purchased my Paperwhite Bulbs at my favorite garden center,
Barlows in Sea Girt, New Jersey
I planted them late this year, later than I usually do.

I always plant them in the same pot, I use the same stones,

you can use either stones or soil.

I only planted 6, that's really all you need for a pot this size.
They looked like this on December 18th, right after I planted them.
It was late for them too, so they had a head start "sprouting"!

They grew very quickly and on December 27th, they looked like this.

January 2nd, in the full sunlight, they were gorgeous!

This is a wonderful bulb to force in your home.
Fast growing, very rewarding...you can smell them in any room of the house.

  8. Debbie - what an inspiration! The purity of the white and the profusion of blooms gives me hope in these times when events can seem a bit gloomy.
