The Monarchs

On August 27th, 
perhaps the last day we had sunshine,
I had several monarch butterflies fluttering around my gardens.
The monarch butterfly is perhaps one of the most recognized butterflies.





Summer adults live only a few weeks.
Think about that time frame when you see a monarch...
how wonderful they decided to visit you during the few weeks they were alive.

 Butterflies...the flowers of the air!

    Monarchs appear to have had a very good year this year. They have been migrating through here in the thousands over the past week or so.

    Oh Debbie, these photos are just so lovely. I didn’t know they had such a short life span. No wonderu you enjoy your moments with them. I think their story really is remarkable.

    They are hard to capture too, usually they are non stop moving, you always do a wonderful job in getting great pics of them!! Just Beautiful!

    Debbie - glorious shots! A few years ago, I did a presentation at work about Monarchs as a way of demonstrating several principles - teamwork, perseverance, the power of transformation, etc. Most people did not really appreciate the lifecycle of this marvelous creature!
