Chester, New Jersey

Chester, New Jersey was having their annual Craft Show this past weekend.
Beside the fact that I am a sucker for a good craft show,
I really like this show because they feature a lot of crafters I don't see in my area.
Chester is about an hour north of the Jersey Shore,
a beautiful ride and we see a lot of farms and barns once we are in Chester.
The craft show was great,
it was cloudy and the temperatures were in the low 60's,
my kinda' day!
After the show, we drove to Alstede Farm
a farm we are familiar with, only a few miles from the show.

If you love farms the way that I do, you will love this farm, it has everything.

There are a lot of beautiful, healthy farm animals...

you can feed if you are brave enough.

They also sell fresh, farm grown fruits and vegetables, and beautiful flowers.

It was a fun afternoon!
If you are ever in the area, stop by...you will enjoy every minute!

oh....and the town of Chester is adorable, all by itself.
Lots of really cute unique shops!

  2. Not exactly what I think of when I think of a farm. More like a cross between a petting zoo and a carnival. Are the fruit and veggies grown on the property?

    1. this is a family run farm and business, it is far from a carnival in my opinion. they sell what they grow there on the farm, and everything else is grown on farms in the area. the farm is huge, and you can "pick your own" there depending on what is in season. it's strawberry season, so the strawberry patches were open for picking your own. other items they grow on the farm and you can pick if you so choose: peas, red & black raspberries, blueberries, corn, peppers, eggplant & tomatoes, just to name a few!! here is a complete list of what they grow:

they also grow there own flowers!!

  3. Hello, I love the farm animals and petting zoo. We have a similar business nearby us, with the veggies, fruits, flowers and the animals. Love the critters! Enjoy your day!

  6. A wonderful day to be had wandering around the craft show at Chester and then onto Alstede Farm. So happy that horse didn't eat your fingers along with the carrot. =) Those strawberries looks delicious. I do believe no-one captures the beauty and gorgeous facial expressions of animals quite like you, Debbie.

  7. A good way for a farm to make money, now that milk and grain prices are so low.
You can feed that nice, big black & white cow. She would never hurt you. Cows don't bite.

  8. Hello,
what a green environment. I'm afraid I'm partial to the black-billed goose.
I have grown up in the countryside and I like all farm animals.

  10. I can tell this is my kind of town. I loved all the photos and you captured the animals personalities in these. You are amazing. I am a farm girl at heart so this would be an all day affair if I attended something like this.
Loving thoughts and hugs for you!
