The Downey Woodpecker

I was sitting at my desk, knitting.
I don't usually sit here when I am knitting but I am multitasking...
reading emails, answering emails and trying to finish one more row on my blanket.
I hear a woodpecker pecking at a tree outside,
the birds are chirping like they do in Spring and there is a chubby bunny outside the window,
looking right at me.
I stop what I am doing and bring some lettuce out for him,
it's cold outside, cloudy and damp...where is Spring?
Back inside...
I have work to do and I look over and Mr. Downey Woodpecker is sitting in the tree,
in his usual spot...I know he see's me.

Although I have a million excellent pictures of him,
I decide to pull out the camera and spend just a few minutes with my man.

His movements are slight, like he is modeling for me.
Or maybe it is because we both have gentle movements, as to not scare the other off.
I'm not sure what it is with some of my birds...
they just hang out while I photograph them.

Funny thing, this was such a cloudy day, yet the sun came out while I took these pictures.

  2. If you are going to have an affair with another man this is a great choice and I even think your husband would approve. It is a handsome little bird and I am sure that your admiration of each other is reciprocal!
