Welcoming Autumn...

I adore Autumn,
and the word Autumn sounds so much prettier than Fall, doesn't it?
Pumpkins, mums, apple cider and hooded sweatshirts,
there is nothing about Autumn that I don't love.
Walks in the woods, leaves crunching beneath your feet,
pumpkin foods and comfort food.
Autumn also means a new...

Autumn means pretty Fall Wreaths...

A decorated front porch...

And pretty pumpkins scattered about the house.

Gentle reminders all over the house...

It's Autumn - the most beautiful time of the year!

I made this counted cross stitch many years ago,
when my boys were little and my hands allowed me to cross stitch,
and before I became obsessed with knitting.
It is a favorite of mine!

  4. Your home looks wonderful all decorated for Autumn, and yes I do like that better than Fall:) Looks like a fun list to complete, did you manage to get your summer list all done? Love your little cross-stitch, after I finished my nephews cross-stitching I haven't done anything else. That light plate is awesome, great find that was! Good luck on finishing everything on your Autumn to do list!

    1. there was an entire blog post about that red teapot. it "doesn't" match the kitchen, it was way too expensive...and i bought it anyway. i LOVE it and now i love that it doesn't match!!

  12. I concur, lovely Debbie, that Autumn is a most beautiful word. Down here, the beautiful season of glorious hues is called Autumn. Your home is looking beautifully autumnal. The cross stitch is beautiful. I would imagine such a lot of effort went into this pretty. Love the red kettle sitting atop the stove. I can almost hear it whistling away.

  15. One great thing about autumn is the availability of Honey Crisp apples (for a reasonable price). They are the best. They are available year round but were recently $5.99/lb (or kg, not sure), but now they are $2.99.

  18. I love the gentle Autumn reminders that you have all over your home. I think that the fall colors are warm and inviting. I love Autumn; it is a favorite time of year.
I really liked your bucket list. I do like how the two of you enjoy your life of adventure. Once upon a time I did cross stitches too; it was fun. I am hoping to get back to crocheting something wonderful. Blessings and hugs for you!
