Smithville, NJ

A favorite, kind of local, day trip for the hubs and I is 
I have taken you to Smithville before but we visited again on Friday 
and I took some fun pictures, worth sharing here today.

Smithville is a quaint, historic town...home to 
The Village Greene 
where the streets and paths are lined with brick and cobblestone.
Only 45 minutes south of where we live, it's a great spot to wonder around on a pretty, sunny day.
Most of the buildings have historic date placards on them, dating back to the early 1800's.













The Smithville Railroad Company is adorable.

 Most often, I don't go in the stores, I don't buy anything, I just don't need anything.
We more enjoy walking around Lake Meone,
window shopping and enjoying all the great wildlife around the lake. 
We had an early dinner at the Smithville Inn that was amazing,
I'm going to share a little bit about that tomorrow!!

    A lovely spot to visit. I like all those shops, just 'window shopping' is fun isn't it.

    What an amazing looking place. Love it. NJ is a state I hope to visit in the next yr. I have an old friend that I stay in contact with that lives in Dorothy NJ but we have not seen each other in almost 40 yrs. He retires in a few months so we hope to get together and spend some time. Wow....thinking of it we have a whole life between our last meet and one coming up....thanks for sharing the great pics.

    What a charming village. It is good to see communities that treasure their historic settlements rather than tear them down and put up something new, like we do here in California.

    gorgeous little shops, village there. i wanna go into those shops. what fun!! ... i love the sunflowers. what a gorgeous trip. going to see what you have to say about a Hoppy Easter. did you see a bunny? going now. later gator. ( ;

    That is a very nice place. That is a fun picture of you and Chuck. I think it would be so much fun to visit. I don't think I would buy anything either.

    One of my greatest loves is to visit historic towns. Even a ghost town now and then. Of course, we haven't had that opportunity for years so I will just enjoy your little adventure. I loved all the photos and it looks like a place I would love to visit.
    I did enjoy the photo where you were captured taking the picture and of course, your hubs and you are the best.

    What a scenic place!!I love those sunflowers on the outside wall! I've been thinking about painting sunflowers on one of our back yard fences.....hmmmm.....

    I just adore little shops like this, (not really a draw for my hubs) but it's kind of a girl thing we do around here. That sand art is unbelievable too! Wow, so cool.
