I don't usually cut many of my daffodils and bring them inside.
I like leaving them out in the gardens for everyone in the neighborhood to enjoy.
I do bring a few indoors, but once they are cut and put into a vase,
they don't seem to last as long.
Last Thursday, before the first snow, I brought in two perfect daffodils,
so I could enjoy them at my desk.
I'm not sure what I was thinking, I should have cut all of them,
as they really suffered during Friday's snow.
Sunday, the hubs went out and cut the rest for me...
so many were injured and would not survive.
But I got one big vase full that were strong enough to survive the storm.
Here's hoping my tulips will be o.k.
I love daffodils in a big way. Years ago, I lived on Daffodil Crescent.🌻
ReplyDeleteYour floral photos are very pretty.
Morning, Debbie! oh my---your flowers are JUST GORGEOUS! Love those! Thanks for the sweet comments---I am so glad you enjoyed the post about the big old pink house. It was alot of research, true---but I do so enjoy doing it! I can stay immersed in history for hours at a time and just love it! LOL I hated to see that big old house torn down...so much family history there. Sigh....What is your weather doing there and how cold is it???
ReplyDeleteHi Debbie, your vase of yellow daffodils are simply gorgeous! Have a beautiful day!
ReplyDeleteGood choice. They make a nice if albeit ephemeral showing.
ReplyDeleteHello, your vase of daffodils is beautiful. Sorry about the snow. Enjoy your day and the week ahead!
ReplyDeleteI find myself on the fence with cutting or not cutting. I love to see them when I pull up but then again I love them in the house. What I pretty much do with my flowers is, if there are a lot, I will take some inside. But recently I started doing something for myself, I visit Kroger and buy their marked down flowers. I got some PURPLE ones two weeks ago, daisy's that had been made purple with color, and they still look great. So that pretty much gives me the flowers I want in the house and I keep mine outside!
ReplyDeletewhat delight to look at your vase full of such pretty daffodils dear!!!
ReplyDeletei too avoid to cut flowers as my heart goes for it though .
sometime hubby does and i feel sorry for poor flowers which separated from their natural process of living
It happens every year. Just as my Daffs bloom, on comes a big, heavy snow. So far, only my Crocus have bloomed and are now peeking up through the 2" of snow we got. I find that cut Daffodils last a lot longer in the vase then my (cut) Tulips ever do.
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful...
ReplyDeleteYour daffodils look so pretty, they are survivors! Yellow is one of my favorite colors! Stay warm, hope you share more photos of the storm. We are getting flurries here this morning.
ReplyDeleteThey are so beautiful Debbie, I am glad you have them inside.
ReplyDeleteI hope the snow isn't as bad as the weathermen are saying.
I will keep you and Chuck in my prayers as he I bet is out in it.
Beautiful Daffodils Debbie. Spring is near. I've had problems with the Internet, I'm already here again😊
ReplyDeleteBesos.
awww, how nice. My dogs would eat them.
ReplyDeleteDaffodils are so wonderful aren't they. I hope you don't have any more snow to ruin your spring flowers.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week :)
Such a beautiful bouquet! How sunny they are!
ReplyDeleteYou really can't beat daffodils.
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely flower, just looking at them makes you feel cheerful!
All the best Jan
Well you have done, that ściełaś daffodils, snow would be destroyed, and you have them in a vase and decorate the apartment. Regards.
ReplyDeleteAw spring. I used to have this unjustified thing against daffodils, but I'm over it now. They're okay after all.

Those are some gorgeous pictures, Debbie. I love daffodils. They are so cheery they make me smile. Maybe spring will be here soon and we all can enjoy all the beautiful flowers then.
ReplyDeleteI am SO envious. My favorite flower and I don't ever get to see them anymore. Too hot here. Have I told you this already? Maybe about 50 times every spring? Sorry. I hope some of your spring flowers survive -- I live to experience the season through blogs from 'up north' where spring is spring and different from winter.
ReplyDeleteNow that is a sight for the winter blues, very lovely.
ReplyDeleteI never deal with flowers much personally as they are often too fragile
ReplyDeleteThey're gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThese are lovely!
ReplyDeleteThey look beautiful in your vase, such a shame all this last cold had to put an end to the beautiful spring flowers, glad you will be able to enjoy them in your home for the next couple of days!
ReplyDeleteThey are beautiful in a vase like that, but I understand your reason for not cutting them. I personally prefer to enjoy most of my flowers outside.
ReplyDeleteCan't believe you have those actually growing in your garden!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you got to bring them in to enjoy them a bit more. The have such a sunny look to them, I'm sure they brightened the entire room.
ReplyDeletethey look so lovely in the vase!
ReplyDeletemy family has daffodils growing in our front yard and we always enjoy bringing a few inside to brighten up the home.
