It's so important in life to have a good copilot, you know what I mean?
In all aspects, you need a good copilot...in the hubs, I have that.
The other day the hubs and I were heading home from dinner.
As we passed Godfrey Lake he shouted out
"I think that was a Heron"
and before I knew it,
he was spinning the car around, headed back.
Upon closer inspection, it was indeed a
Great Blue Heron
I snapped this image first, you know, just in case he flew off.
Getting a little closer, I snapped again,
I didn't want to go back to the car with nothing...
after such a great spotting from the copilot.
And just as I rounded the bend and the view opened up...I saw this.
I only clicked once or twice and it took flight...
but that was enough and I was so happy as I headed back to my copilot.
I was thinking perhaps he is the pilot, me the copilot, since he is the driver...
What's that saying...
"It doesn't matter where you go in life, it's who you have beside you"
Yep, that's us...pilot, copilot, it doesn't matter, just as long as we're together!
beautiful, debbie. you're a lucky one.
ReplyDeleteYou have a good man there Debbie ...
ReplyDeleteI love your words here ""It doesn't matter where you go in life, it's who you have beside you"
Yep, that's us...pilot, copilot, it doesn't matter, just as long as we're together!"

Hello Debbie, you and your hubby are both lucky to have each other. Love the Heron shots, well done. Happy Sunday, enjoy your day and the new week ahead!
ReplyDeleteWell said. And sometimes the unexpected photos are the best, as in the case of this heron.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you were able to get these shots, and they are beautiful Heron Captures. Well done to you both!:) Americo, my hubby has better eye sight than mine and when we are out and about he often calls my attention to birds I hadn't seen. What would we do without them!!!:)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful captures Debbie. You and your pilot did well :)
ReplyDeleteI'm blessed to have a good copilot also. These are truly awesome photos, Debbie! You are amazing!

ReplyDeleteWell it certainly was worth turning the car round for these lovely shots of the Heron
ReplyDeleteLindo e bem apanhado.
ReplyDeleteUm abraço e boa semana.
I so enjoy watching you and your husband live life! It just does a heart good to see such a happy couple!
ReplyDeleteWow.. that's a fabulous shot. Glad the co-pilot had his eyes peeled for such a treat.
ReplyDeleteI love, love, love this heron!!! ... But, Debbie??? I must tell you why I'm chuckling at this story ... I have a friend who lives in this building - Marshall. He moved here almost a year ago now and we've become good friends. Last week, we went to run an important errand in downtown Harrisonburg: he was driving (the pilot) and - well, with my anxiety problems of being in a front seat (which happens even when I drive myself!), I'm in the back seat (so I'm the co-pilot). We're going through downtown and I said, "OH! the library is having a book sale!" and - just like that - he found a way to turn around, despite narrow, one-way streets and midday traffic, and we got to the book sale! I hadn't thought of it like piloting, until I read your story about your outing with your 'pilot' :)

ReplyDeleteIgnore that comment from above - I posted from the wrong account! Anyway, what a great photo find you got there! Great spotting from your copilot. You know that I would have driven over someone's lawn to get those shots. ;-)
DeleteWow you got some amazing shots of that Beauty, very cool! Greg says the same thing about me, he loves taking me along because I see things that he doesn't catch!!
ReplyDeleteHello Debbie! Great shots, especially the one through the leaves! Although the Heron cannot be seen completely, but there is a mystery in this photo =)
ReplyDeleteYou have a wonderful co pilot. I was thinking the other day about your story with Chuck. It is such a nice story.
ReplyDeleteAmazing shots you got Debbie. I really enjoy these. We have had some flying over in the mornings, I don't know where they are going to find water, so I enjoy seeing them through your lens.
That's so cute! Mine did that the one time I was driving. He doesn't like driving but likes me to take photos! He was so proud of himself!
ReplyDeleteAmazing capture! You have a wonderful copilot! When we travel I drive. Jerry drives so much for his job he likes to sit back and ride, but he's very patient as I slam on the brakes and turn around when I see something photo worthy. I do all this safely, of course!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! You do have a wonderful copilot :-)
ReplyDelete... fabulous photos Debbie... so special.. hugs.. Barb xxx
ReplyDeleteFantastic! One of my favorites as you know! You have your co-pilot very well trained! LOL!
ReplyDeleteThose are beautiful shots of the heron!
ReplyDeleteYou are so right, I agree 100% and what one doesn't bring the other one does! Life and love is grand, as are those lovely captures. It's quite a beautiful show!
ReplyDeleteGreat shots of the heron! The last one is perfect.
ReplyDeletePerfectly posed for you!
