Last weekend they hosted their 19th Century Fall Festival.
A festival celebrating the end of Summer and the beginning of Fall
with children's games, hearth cooking, cider pressing, puppet shows,
music, dancing and militia recruitment demonstrations.
Here's a peek inside the Blacksmith Shop...
Lots of beautiful handmade quilts were displayed outdoors...

We also took a horse drawn carriage ride...
where I met this sweet little girl...

We also took a nice long train ride,
2 laps around the park..
I loved this picture of the hubs and I.
We were exhausted and enjoyed sitting here in the sun,
surrounded by leaves and the crisp fresh air.
I know my sister Kathy will read and enjoy this entry,
Allaire is one of her favorite places.
She is also an avid quilter.

carriage rides though. That was a beautiful day for y'all and you both look so cute in that pic. :)

ReplyDeleteI love these outdoor festivals and even more so when you can watch demonstrations. That is neat they had a train and wagon ride. Like how they displayed the quilts too, glad you had a fun day out!
