My hands are happiest when they are moving.
Moving = knitting...click, click, click!!
I saw the hat on the cover of this book, and I fell in love...
"knits of a feather"
lot's of bird inspired designs!
I finished this hat a little while ago,
but I never finished the feather design on the outside of the hat!
I was determined to finish it this week and share it here,
and I am close...
very close...99.9 % done but I just didn't have the time to finish.
I don't want to rush it...
and I am starting to think it may look better without the feather work.
Opinions?? it could easily be removed!!
Then it needs to be washed and blocked,
the edge is really curling, I needed the sea glass to hold it down.
This is the first project I have ever started, on my own,
from a book, with a pattern, without any guidance at all...
I'm pretty stoked!!

Good morning, Debbie! I love the hats both with the feather work and without.. You are so good, lovely projects. Enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteThe feather work makes it look unique:)
ReplyDeleteI always love your knitting day. I love seeing what you have been doing. I like it how it is. I think it is really a nice hat.
ReplyDeleteI bet it looks nice on you.
You are styling in every way! Bravo.
ReplyDeleteI love seeing your kitting projects, my friend. It's been a joy to see how you have progressed and I must say this hat is simply lovely! Well done, Debbie.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing with Roses of Inspiration. Enjoy your afternoon. Hugs!
Well, you are doing a beautiful job following a pattern and I love the feather because it is forest-y and I think it honors the designer. Not that I always honor the designer. LOL!
ReplyDeleteI like it a lot!
ReplyDeletei think it is cute but i like it plain, too.
ReplyDeleteYou seem to be doing very well. I like it both ways.
ReplyDeletePersonally, I like it without the feather - leaves more options to add a pin or some other embellishment. I'm sure it will be beautiful either way.
ReplyDeleteI love this hat and I also love the feather; it is adorable. You must model this one when it is completed. I am so proud that you did this on your own reading a pattern. I really have a hard time reading patterns when i crochet.
ReplyDeleteLoved this one and sending hugs your way!
I love the feather its your first piece you have made on your own so i would keep it. If no one wears it cause of the feather then send to me. Lol...
ReplyDeleteI wish I could do that!! I do like the feather!
ReplyDeleteI like it with the feather.
ReplyDeleteI just love that you have learned to knit...
ReplyDeleteI bet the hat will keep you feeling toasty.
ReplyDeleteLooking good to me, both ways work and it should keep you warm.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
