The Goldfinch Galla...
We always have a lot of pretty Goldfinches in the yard.
But this summer,
it's as though they have exploded on the scene.
It has become one of the birds I don't even get up for anymore,
I am not taking anymore pictures of them
because it is one of the birds I have way too many pictures of.
They are easy to photograph, when they land, they stay put
and are not easily scared off.
Here they are on July 10th...
and again on July 13th
These are the males, they are a much brighter yellow
than the females.
I have not been seeing many girls but the boys are abundant!!

Now how did you get that gorgeous Goldfinch to pose so well for you? Have a wonderful weekend Debie.
ReplyDeleteThey are such a lovely bird to look at. When I was kid we called them wild canaries
ReplyDeleteMay be in one day when you wake up, you will find these birds stay put besides your bed, singing good morning to you.
ReplyDeleteAnd I say happy birthday to Addie.
Hello Debbie, gorgeous collection of Goldfinch images. The male are beautiful birds. I have not been seeing too many, only a few. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Have a happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteAren't they a pretty bird : ) I grow sunflowers every year mostly for them to enjoy late summer! :)
ReplyDeleteVery nice.
ReplyDeleteWhen I fill the feeder they come in flocks (gluttons). When I don't they come a few at a time especially to the sunflowers.
I love these birds! A few years ago, I had tons of them. Since then, only a few. They all must have gone to your house.

ReplyDeleteWe have more than usual here this year too, Debbie, and in a couple of our birdhouses, their babies have just hatched over the past couple of days, which is late in the season (?) I think.
ReplyDeleteThey really are just adorable little things.
Schöne Bilder von den kleinen Kerlen.

ReplyDeleteI love their vivid yellow! We have some around here - we call them Napolean - the little buggers plot their battles at the feeders. But they're so pretty and fun to watch!
