The Bonsai in Longwood Gardens...

I have never shared images of the amazing 
Bonsai Trees in Longwood Gardens.
It is a large and quite beautiful display.
Each tree is identified and the date of its origination is noted!

Japanese Zelkova...Training began 1909

Hinoki False Cypress...Training began 1930

Pomegranate...Training began 1960

Ginko...Training began 1909

Trident Maple...Training began 1990

Crape - Myrtle...Training began 1944

Crape - Myrtle...Training began 1944

Bald Cypress...Training began 1988

 Loose-Flower Hornbeam...Training began 1991

Azalea...Training began 1970

  1. Oh what beautiful Bonsai. Ron will enjoy these. I just love Bonsai and thinking of all of the work and history that has gone into each one. They are just lovely. So are the regular flowers.

  4. oh, my goodness! i love the bonsai! some are ancient! wonderful!!! i thought of farm girl seeing these, so glad to see her comment above. :) and i like the color and the cool couple at the end, too. :)

  14. Always love the sweet pictures of the two of you. The Bonsai trees are so interesting. One of the dates is the year before I was born. The flowers are just what I need. I love your flower photos of course.

  15. The bonsai are beautiful. I see two of them were started the year before I was born, I sometimes feel like I am on the way to being as twisted as them too. Love the bright, cheerful colours in the flowers, too. The bougainvillea is stunning.

  22. Oh wow! Those trees are so beautiful. I would never in a million years guess some of them are so old! The flowers are so bright and gorgeous, and there could be no better way to culminate this post than with your and your husband's sunny smiles!
