The Deer of Lancaster, Pennsylvania
Mr. Buck...he never moved.
A Seneca White Deer
with long, beautiful, flowing eyelashes.
A Fawn
These beautiful deer were behind a chain link fence...
at a petting zoo.
As much as I enjoyed seeing them,
they were so docile, so motionless, it bothered me.
I wish I had spotted them in the wild, where they belong.

Sweet sweet faces!
ReplyDeleteHello Debbie, wonderful shots of the deer. They are so pretty. The Seneca White Deer is a beauty! At least inside the fence they are safe from hunters. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Have a happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteSuch a shame that those deer were behind the fence. I've never seen a white deer before so that was a thrill.
ReplyDeleteWow. What a pro you are. We have very few of the white deer, it's such a magical moment when one happens on one. I love these captures Debbie. Deer and greenery, perfection!
ReplyDeleteLovely photographs of all the Deer but yes it is a pity they are living in the wild. Have a lovely weekend.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos of nature's deer who should be wandering free ~ Great shots, though!
ReplyDeleteHappy Weekend,
artmusedog and carol
they are pretty.
ReplyDeleteAt first I thought you had seen all these in the wild, and I was a little jealous.
ReplyDeleteLoved the buck with his velvet antlers:)
ReplyDeleteMy mom once had a regular visit from a "palomino" deer...very cool.
ReplyDeleteI am ready.
ReplyDeleteThe buck is amazing. One almost ran across the road yesterday but then he turned around and jumped back in the brush. I have never seen a white deer before; they are so pretty. I think these deer are very well fed and living quite a carefree life.
ReplyDeleteSchöne Bilder von den Hirschen und sogar ein weißer.
ReplyDeleteGruß
Noke
Very pretty looking deer.
ReplyDeleteThey may have been still if it was a hot day. Such great photos!
ReplyDeleteI am on the edge of my seat waiting for the hot air balloon post!!!!
Yes it is sad these dear can't roam in the forest but at least their protected against hunters especially the white dear. They don't seem to have a care in the world, its like they know their safe & they probably came in as rescues. Great photos
ReplyDeleteOps i ment deer not dear. Lol
DeleteGreat point Karen, and their fenced in area was large and clean!!
DeleteYes! Those eye lashes. Wow. And, I barely have any left. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat photo's, dear Debbie.
xoxo
Gorgeous photos!
ReplyDeleteon the bright side...they are obviously well cared for. And beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThey are lovely animals. The white one is fantastic.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos.
☺Have a nice day ☺
Wonderful photos, Debbie. I love the close-up of the buck with his velvet antlers and the white female - such a very pretty face on her. Those eyelashes are stunning!
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing those 'enclosed' deer are settled and content with where they live, or they wouldn't breed. They have no fear of being attacked or chased and if any need medical attention, it will be there for them. We have wild deer around here and it's always a thrill to come across them, but virtually impossible to get a decent close-up photo - they are always alert to anyone approaching and bound away before a camera can be focused!
There are white deer, oh I see.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful.
Wow! I have never seen a white deer before! Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWhite deer would probably have a tough go in the wild.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pics!
~
You captured some beautiful shots; even if they didn't move much. I loved the white deer; I don't think I have seen one before.
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
Lovely shots of these beautiful animals. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteThey are just gorgeous, yes you wonder what their life is like but after being use to humans around them I don't think they would do well in the wild now either.
ReplyDeleteThose are gorgeous deer. I don't believe I've eve seen a "white" one like that before. I'm glad they are protected. Yes it's great to see them in the wild but sometimes it's necessary to protect the species such as that white one from hunters.
ReplyDeleteI've never seen a white deer. Great lashes!
