Have you ever been to New York City at Christmastime?
Waited on those long lines with great anticipation to see the
"Windows at Macy's"?
I have...and I never "got it"!!
Don't get me wrong, they were pretty, but not Christmassy.
So edgy, so colorful...I had no idea what I was looking at.
On Saturday, we went to Ocean Grove for the
Live Nativity Show
and the lighting of their Christmas Tree,
everything was beautiful.
Their tree is simple, they decorate one that is growing in their
meeting square, the same tree every year.
I like that no trees are harmed in the
lighting of this tree!
Afterward, we walked around town,
and what I enjoyed the most, were all the store front windows,
decorated for Christmas.
Let me show you what I am talking about...
The Christmas Tree in Ocean Groves Town Square
After Ocean Grove, we drove by this house in Spring Lake.
the lights were synchronized to Christmas music.
It is an exceptional display that this family creates every year!!
Many thanks to the Sisti Family, we really enjoyed your home!!
Now these pictures just shout out "Christmas!" I love walking through quaint towns a night during the Christmas season and looking in the windows - everything is so sweet and pretty.
ReplyDeleteHugs to you!
Wow oh wow oh wow-o! Now THAT's what I'm talking' about! Yes, ma'am!
ReplyDeletesweet, traditional displays. :) lovely.
ReplyDeleteEach window tells a story! I love these. I liked to walk along the sidewalks in Lynchburg when I was a child and look at the windows. I wonder if the people who create these displays realize how much enjoyment they bring to others?
ReplyDeleteWOW! No need to ask what time of the year is!!! That last shot is fantastic and must have been great to watch as the lights changed with the music.
ReplyDeleteI want to adopt those elves. (or were the gnomes?)
ReplyDeleteLOVE all the lights! I need to get out to a big town to get some!
ReplyDeleteThese are so festive! I can't imagine seeing the light show set to music. Wow. I admire people going to all the effort to create something so impressive.
ReplyDeleteI love this town during Christmas.
ReplyDeleteFabulous and magical images.
Greetings.
Your photos are fantastic. Thank you for sharing them with us, those Christmas likes must be incredible to see with your own eyes. The last photo is a 'wow'. We had a house similar to this one but the last couple of years no sign of lights.
ReplyDeleteI love the flying snowman!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd when I scrolled down, I fell in love with the corrousel hummingbird@!!!! I want it!!
Oh, I have had flu, but am on the way to recovery...
ReplyDeleteGreat windows ... The way they're supposed to look this time of year. And that family sure goes above and beyond! Quite a gift to the community.
ReplyDeleteAll so very pretty. I especially like the store windows. :)
ReplyDeleteDebbie, I agree with your comment on the window displays.. These are so cute, I love the elves.. And the tree is pretty. The last shot of the decorated house and lawn is amazing.. Great post, have a happy new week!

ReplyDeleteI like these Christmas decorations. Just beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteI like and the last decor my daughter has a neighbor one street over who started with a tree in front yard and has ended up a whole house lite outside. So now every christmas he has cars looking all hours of the night.
ReplyDeleteMy hubby and I loved to watch every year the houses who have the first price winning best lights on T.V.
Those are elaborate and beautiful displays.
ReplyDeleteWonderful Christmas displays! I would love to see them.
ReplyDeleteThank you debbie :)
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful festive shots !
ReplyDeleteI've never done NY at Christmas - not a 'stand in line' girl....but small town Christmas windows for the win!! I'm sure I'd feel the same way you do about the NY windows - I'm all about 'kitsch' and nostalgia at Christmas time!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun place. I love that house!
