Good Fences ~ Edition 24 ~

"Tent City" is located in Ocean Grove, New Jersey...
about a half hour north of us.

It's another adorable seaside community that the hubs
and I visit all the time.
Great views, awesome eateries and beautiful ocean breezes.
On August 25th of this year, we strolled about the tents.

 The "homes" are "tents",

 real, small, adorable tents.

Everyone decorates the front in a very unique kind of way.
This one was my favorite.

I liked this "Beach House" also, it is my second favorite.

It's a very tight knit community,
where everyone knows your name and everything thing else about you.

Do you see those cute little white picket fences??
Qualifies me for Good Fences right?!?!

Here's a picture of the back pathway.
There is a small structure behind each tent,
for storage when the tents are folded up for winter.

So what do you guys think...could you live in tent city for the summer?
This place is completely adorable...
for me, a great place to visit, but I would not want to live here!!

I am so happy to be sharing this pretty small white fences with
my good friend
for Good Fences.
Stop by and consider joining in the fun, any fence or gate will do!!

  5. how funky!!! i was wondering about year-round habitation. glad you clarified it is only for summer. still, i'd be creeped out living that closely to others with only canvas walls between us. nope. couldn't do it. give me wide-open spaces, locking doors, big dogs, fences/gates, fields and trees. :)

it is really cute, though. :) i spotted the pickets right away.

  6. You go to the most interesting places! What an adorable place to visit! I could certainly stay there for a few weeks, or a month or two! We go camping a few times a year and our tent does not look that pretty! **Jackie

  9. Like you, I don't think I could live there in a tent, but they're cute to look at! I wonder about cooking, bathing, etc. in a tent... The little picket fences are so cute.

  12. Wow - like nothing I've ever seen! Each so cute and unique! I'm wondering the same as others about cooking, etc and what happens when the tents get put away to what's inside.

I love this post; gee if it weren't for you I'd never go anywhere. LOL

  14. I could simplify...and spend some time there...but probably not for a whole summer! Unless the beach is really close by...then, maybe I could!

  15. I've never seen anything like it. It would be fun to see inside one of those tents.

  16. Today has been so fun, so many interesting places I've learned about. This one is amazing. So people actually live in the tents during the summer? Do you rent them or what? It's such a charming looking place. No wonder you enjoy visiting there.

  17. Cute tent city, but not my cup of tea for sure. Can you imagine having neighbors right there on each side of those thin canvas "walls"? I need my space. LOL!

  20. I don't think your Good Fence entry is "lame". If it has a good story or an interesting feature included as yours does, that's all that matters. Consider my Girl in the Cornfield - a few simple strands of barb wire. It not for the art piece included, that would be lame. Thank you for visiting my Girl in the Cornfield Good Fence by the way.

  21. Oh my goodness, yes I could! What fun, it's got to be quite an experience. I am so happy that you included it, and yes there's enough fence to make it right on! After all, any part of a fence makes it a fence right! Love this post!

  22. What an interesting idea... a tent house for the summer. I might like to try it for a week, but not all summer.

  24. How cool is that! I've never seen anything like them. In the military, our "tent city" was something entirely different.

  27. This is really an amazing phenomenon! It's hard to imagine people living in these for the whole summer, but they are really pretty the way they are decorated! Such a different way to approach a summer life. I bet there are some interesting stories!

  28. Okay, when I retire I want to live in tent city. Yes, I could totally live there. Such a cute place :)

  29. I have always loved Tent City - ty for your fantastic pictures!!! My understanding is that they are passed down from generation to generation, and highly valued ... I always loved going to Ocean Grove when we spent summers in Manasquan! Tent City ... the Victorian homes ... the auditorium ... the yearly huge yard sale (it was called something ...) ... the ocean, of course! This was back when it was closed on Sunday to cars, and before it became part of Neptune.
