A Close Encounter...

 of the Deer kind!!

This mama was not nearly as thrilled to see me,

as I was to see her.

She contemplated her choices...as it was pretty clear I was not leaving.

She was worried about these two little ones...
I had not even seen as I was so focused on mom.

They knew right away, that mom was uneasy...

 two action "butt" shots,

 of them scampering off.

Mom's final warning "Don't Come Back"!!

  9. They really are beautiful animals; however, I know that they can be harmful to vegetation. We have none in our immediate neighborhood, but our friends have dozens. I love seeing them in your photos!

  22. Oh I really love these pictures of the deer. They used to come into our yard a lot in Washington. The bad thing was they liked to eat the bottom of some of our bushes; so my husband wasn't happy.
    Blessings for my smile today.

  23. They are so beautiful, Debbie. My very favorite animal. What a coincidence too, as yesterday, I came upon a 14-point buck. He was huge, and not happy to see me either. It was the first time I've ever backed away from a deer. Such a gorgeous creature!
