Historic Smithville has a beautiful Carousel!!
It was not in operation as we passed on Saturday.
I picked one of the animals and imagined myself riding.
This is the horse I picked for my imaginary ride...
but when I saw the bunny, I changed my mind.
Kids do that all the time, right? (smile) !
Given the opportunity, which of these beauties would you pick to ride?
Great photos of this lovely carousel Debbie. Those neat rides are beautifully painted, so colorful!
ReplyDeleteThe carousel is beautiful. I would love a ride on it too!
ReplyDeleteThe carousel animals are beautifully done. I'm afraid I wouldn't pick any to ride on, the motion makes me dizzy and nauseated :(
ReplyDeleteHow nice! I like the horse in second photo;)
ReplyDeleteI have a difficult week, Debbie. Come to the hospital, Salamanca, we operate Paco hernia. I'll be back next week;)
A hug.
I love those old carousels with the calliope music. I went on the one in Ocean City all the time. You could catch rings on that one. My grandies enjoy the one at the Phila. Zoo. The ones here are so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteno bunny for me! no way! maybe the elephant, but i chose the horse with feathers.
ReplyDeleteI think the elephant looks like he's having so much fun! I'd have to pick him! Her?! Looks like you had quite the visit over the weekend - all those amazing shops yesterday just killed me...I need a touristy fix of some quaint village. Fast!
ReplyDeleteYou picked a beautiful horse to imaginary ride! Love carousels and all their colors and whimsy.
ReplyDeleteIt would be difficult to choose - but I think I would choose the first pony - such beautiful colours to take me to a fantasy world
ReplyDeleteI like that first horse - but all of them are gorgeous - I don't think I have ever seen a merry-go-round with such beautiful old animals...
ReplyDeleteI looked at your next post too - lots of greenery coming up... I love the photo of the two of you in the restaurant, and all the forsythia there!!
I really like the horse with the feathers but seeing as it is Spring and Easter is coming and all I might take a spin on that cool bunny ( I think I will take two rides) !
ReplyDeleteNice photos. The colours are so intensely.
ReplyDeleteWelcome Debbie!
ReplyDeleteThis is a gorgeous carousel. Such a colorful ...
What a ride? tailstock, bunny and maybe an elephant?
Greetings.
Debbie, cute series! I have to say as a child and an adult, I would always pick one of the horses..have a great day!
ReplyDeleteA true classic! I love the animals on this one.
ReplyDeleteI would pick the bunny horse, of course, Debbie...tis the season for bunnies now.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful carousel. I think one of the prettiest ones I have ever seen. What lovely rides.
ReplyDeleteIt would be so hard to pick one but like you, I am thinking I would like to ride that rabbit, I have never ridden a rabbit. :)

ReplyDeleteDimi..
i don't think i have ever seen a carousel "bunny" before? as a kid i would pick the odd animal. never the plain old horse. that is too boring. maybe an ostrich or other kind of bird. ( :
ReplyDeleteHi Debbie - How did I miss this post? I don't think I've ever seen a prettier Carousel! I used to ride one during our local "Fair" as a kid. I was horse crazy. If I were to pick one for my ride on this carousel, it would be the one in the fourth photo down, with the feathers in his bridle. GORGEOUS!!
ReplyDeleteThere is something so truly magical about carousels, and this one is such a beauty, Debbie.
ReplyDeleteHappy day to you!
You kind of snuk this post in somehow, I too missed it.
ReplyDeleteLove those carousel rides. You chose good!
My horse would be the one in the 4th photo - we had imaginary horses (from our stick ones) and mine was always white with a white mane :D)
Oh, that's a gorgeous carousel! The old ones are always wonderful!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous carousel. Coleen wants to ride on this! I like the Elephant.
