She's a Pinball Wizard...

Well, not really...but I sure did have a lot of fun!
Silver Ball Museum is located right on the boardwalk in Asbury Park.
If you are ever in Asbury, this place is a must visit!
It's not just an arcade, it's a museum of vintage pinball machines,
skee-ball, air hockey...you name it, they have it.
Every machine has a story.

So let's get to the pictures, because...there are a lot!

There was Air Hockey...

some people take it way too serious,

and one of those peeps...

was me.
Youngest son Michael did not appreciate being beaten by mom.

The hubs liked this bowling game, primarily because he was good at it.

A poster above each machine, told the machines story.
Where it came from, where it was popular and the year it was born.

 A 1957 Seeburg Jukebox...very cool!

 The machines are extremely sensitive.
I did receive a few "tilts"...do you remember those??

This section had all the old wooden machines.

 I liked this Super Slugger...

and wondered how many hands had gone to bat here.

 Alisa and Mike...very serious!

You can also have a bite to eat,

they serve fun boardwalk food.

 The "serious" boys liked Pac-Man...

 this was my favorite!

 And here's Bill.
When no one was watching, I introduced myself to Bill,

 he was repairing the machines...

and I told him my readers would love to see the guts of one of these things.
I can be extremely persuasive...hehe

And yes...Elvis was in the house!

So here's the deal, you go in, pay one price
and you can play any game you want.
We arrived at 5 p.m., paid $ 10.00 each and that was it.
Play till they close at 11 p.m. or till your fingers don't work anymore.

We didn't make it to 11, but someone sure did have a lot of fun!!

  4. That looks like so much fun! I haven't been to an arcade in years, but your pictures brought back memories. I think that nowadays the noise would overwhelm my sensitive hearing problem. Glad you had a good time!

  14. Debbie it looks like so much fun. Once upon a time I was quite the "pinball wizard". I'm not for sure how I managed to do as well as did....good hand eye coordination I suppose. Oh and I remember loving Pacman. Enjoy the week. Bonnie

  20. What a very fun event. I loved air hockey and we once had a small pin ball machine. I love the old jukebox. My parents owned a cafe for a while that had one.
It looks like you all had great fun and I loved the pictures. I really liked looking underneath to see what all the workings looked like.
    Blessings for this fun one~
