Blog To Print...

I continue to print my blog, every 3 months.
In the past, I was able to fit 6 months in one book.
The site added a feature where you can select the size of your images.
Now, I choose "large" images and only 3 months of blog entries will fit into one book.
That's fine by me, I like the bigger pictures.

I just printed these two books.

The front of book one...
July 1, 2013 - September 30, 2013

 the front of book two,
October 1, 2013 - December 31, 2013

Here's a peak at the inside...

 I love these bigger pictures.

You also select one picture for the back.

The book also contains a Table of Contents
and a Dedication page as well.

I have kept up very well with this, I have 8 books in total.
I will be ready to print again at the end of this month!

I added the numbers on the bindings.
They probably would have done that for me, but I didn't think of it,
until I received my third or fourth book.

These 2 books are both around 350 pages, and include 83 blog entries...
an average of 28 posts per month.
Using the 15% offer blogger had emailed me, each book was just under $100.00.

I LOVE my books and so do all my friends and family!
This is a wonderful keepsake.

Anybody else out there, printing their blog??

  1. You know, in all this time...I still haven't!! I have some ideas - and am still planning on it - probably only favorite posts of mine. Or by theme...can't quite decide. This is a gorgeous tribute to your wonderful space in the blogosphere. Perfect keepsake!

  3. You are far more ambitious that I! I have yet to put together a photo book, much less print my blog. I think it would be worth doing, though.

  4. Cool, I still haven't done that.

  5. I don't think it's something I'll do. I have too many books around here, and I need to reduce, not increase. I do love the look of yours, though. So, maybe if I free up more shelf space, I'll think about it.

  6. These are wonderful keepsakes! I haven't done anything like this, but I'd like to someday. Did you find an online company to do it?

One day I will have my posts printed too.... but for now that waits... I wish though that I could do it sooner... have a blessed day on your side of the world: )

  18. Debbie, this is WONDERFUL. I have thought about this from time to time, but never looked into it. If you don't mind me asking, who did you choose to print them for you (or is this something that Blogger does)?

  20. I never even thought of doing such a thing! What a neat idea!! That is going to be a treasure-trove for your family and future family. Awesome!

  21. Hey, what a neat idea! I didn't know you could do that. Are you going to tell us the details?

  22. I do! I use the same service and print a book each year. One year I had to split it into two books. I use the small pictures but your large ones look super!

I leave out the table of contents to save money. These books are very expensive but if you add up what it used to cost us to do a family album (all those film and print costs!), it's not too bad. Besides, I got behind on family albums in 1989 and never caught up again.

  23. I am thrilled the see that you are doing blog books. I have thought about it too. Your books look lovely. What a truly wonderful history through pictures. A true blessing for your family and friends.

  25. No, I do not make books of our posts, but yours look lovely, Debbie. I finally updated our photo albums with all the loose photos that had been piling up for the past several years. The problem with having so many albums would be storage and then it seems that fewer people look at albums, compared to years past.

  27. HI Debbie That's a great idea although i never thought one could do it. Like another blogger asked, did you get the information off the web or just locally? The answer might be of interest to other bloggers, perhaps add into the next post? Jsut a suggestion.

  29. I print my too, only once a year. This year my third book will be printed. To quote my grandson, "Grandma, never stop doing this, these books are our family treasure"

  30. I've often thought of this. I'm still thinking on it.
You see, the father of my children died this winter, and my poor daughter is busily cleaning up the house as her step-mom has dementia and cannot. There is so much clutter and hoarding, I just wonder what she would do with these books. Thanks for pointing it all out! Still thinking!

  31. I have been thinking about doing this...I have forgotten how if you can let me know how to start the process. How much does it cost for each book?

  32. Wow - what an excellent idea! I never thought of making my blog into a book. I mean I've made photo books and we've been thinking of books for David's stories, but not about my blog. Got to - seriously - think about that...

  33. I love that idea!

  34. Hi Denise pointed me to this post. I am in the process of organising a book to print. I only want the posts of the story I am writing about my life. I guess you call it my memoirs. However, when I first tried to print the first chapter I got the warning message at the end of the book saying the photos were not high enough resolution. So I am going through all the posts and replacing the photos. I rescanned them at a higher resolution but I have just discovered that when I export them from Aperture, my processing program that they were exported at a low resolution. I figured out how to change that so now I have to do them all again......I am getting frustrated to say the least. What resolution are your big photos? I have made many photo books and haven't had a problem using blurb and Apple books but with the blog posts I tried Blog2Book (Booksmart). I didn't like how Blog2Book didn't place the photos where I wanted them but I think they have the option to keep them like the post now. I would appreciate any tips you have.
