The "Cheating" Great Egret

Or in other words...the "smart" Great Egret.
He was standing on an inlet water control structure,
(description made possible by the hubs, 
his description's are never short, but that's a whole nother story)
 
This intelligent Egret stood as the water flowed by him,
which made catching dinner, a breeze.
 
 Here he is relaxed and unguarded...
 
look how long his neck stretches up, when he notices
me and his guard/neck goes up.
 
He flew off (did I get a good flight shot, NO)...
then came right back to the same spot.
 
The Great Egret
he knows where his dinner is served!

    These are beautiful shots! I've never had any luck with flying shots. I love the way this egret raises his neck up when he's on guard!

    These birds fascinate me - the way their bodies change...stretch, scruntch, twist, straighten. The pure white and bright orange beak are so striking! Nice shots!
