Surrounded by the beauty of all the spring flowers,
it might be easy for some people to overlook the magnificent trees
growing in Longwood Gardens.
Here are a few of my favorite trees from our trip on Wednesday.
The hubs and I, enjoying the Red Buds!
I'm not sure why they are called "Red Buds", they are clearly purple.
This entry is for my dear friend Theresa,
she has such a love and appreciation for magnificent trees.
T, this one's for you!!
It is wonderful to see the trees in this stage - you get the bare bones peeking through the new foliage or blossoms - the best of both worlds!!! You are ahead of us - no buds on the fruit trees yet, here... ;-(
ReplyDeleteLove love love! I really like that you stepped back and really got the whole tree - And it's just that point where the color is there, but you can still see the branches and get the wonderful shapes of each tree. If we're choosing, the fourth photo is my fave!
ReplyDeleteJudy and I think alike, I guess. And we comment simultaneously as well apparantly!
ReplyDeleteThe "buds" are red. We have one in our yard and I'm just waiting for it to bloom. It's late this year. :( The are my favorite tree. Did you notice it has heart-shaped leaves?
ReplyDeleteawww! i was having a blast enjoying the weeping cherry, the weeping willow, the pic of you and the red buds, then you hit me with the dedication. bless you, dear one. i love you.
