If you follow my blog, you know I live right along the Jersey Shore.
I have never lived anywhere else and I adore the beach.
People who don't live here "go down to the shore"!
People who live here "go to the beach"!
There's a big difference.
I have collected sea glass and shells my entire life.
Let me show you how I display all of my seashore treasures,
on a designated shelf in my home!!
This large tray holds jars/glasses, each filled with shells and sea glass.
Each jar is from a special trip.
I always put a strip of paper in each glass,
with the place and date the shells and glass were found.
In between, are larger rocks, shells and pottery
that are beautiful and special as well!
This is my sea glass corner of the shelf.
This large glass jar holds all the sea glass I collected as a child.
This pretty dish displays all my favorite pieces of sea glass.
More glasses, more special trips!!
The entire picture...
Here are four pieces of sea glass,
I received from a very special someone.
Thank you my dear friend,
these will always be my most treasured pieces!
these will always be my most treasured pieces!
Oh you have your sea glass displayed so nicely. I am so jealous of your two red pieces! I love how you have your collections separated and marked. You add such a wondeful extra touch to everything you touch.
ReplyDeleteAs soon as I saw your title, I naturally had to try and say it as fast as I could in my head...rather unsuccessfully. :-)
ReplyDeleteThat's a fantastic collection! My daughter would love it! You have some beautiful pieces.
laughing at brian's opening comment. :) you do have some beautiful pieces. and you display them well.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely way to display your collection! The ocean glass in the little dish is especially eye-catching. I love the blues. Thank you for sharing this with us. :-)
ReplyDeleteOh Debbie I love sea glass your photos make them the beautiful natural art they are. There is nothing like staring at the glass perfectly displayed and wondering where it came from.
ReplyDeleteYou do have wonderful pieces and I can imagine you and I on your beach/shore searching and finding these treasures. I love your Jersey Shore too. I once found glass meaning a piece of old plate with the stamp 1850 in my stream while wondering the bush one day. I have no idea how it got there but I still have it and keep looking for more of that plate. I guess it is a little like your beach:)
I LOVE these photos. Hugs B

Hi Debbie...You are so cute with your shells, and sea glass!!
ReplyDeleteDo you remember the tongue twister:
She sells sea-shells on the sea-shore
The shells she sells are sea-shells, for sure!
For if she sells sea-shells on the sea-shore
Then I'm sure she sells sea-shore shells {smile} ; )
Your collection is fabulous, and I know where there is one I missed in Mackerel cove, if you would like to make the trip lol!!
I am actually very envious, because my measly jar of many colors off sea glass looks like nothing...but I do have all those colors!! : )

ReplyDeleteFull of wonders.
They're all so pretty & good thinking on labeling them, too. =)
ReplyDeleteAs NJ natives, we did get your comments about going to the shore or beach. At one time, we had a collection of shellsicked from NJ and other beaches we walked while traveling. Our daughter collects sea glass as well as a friend who designs jewelry and they would be envious of your collection, Debbie.
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome collection of Sea Shells and what a wonderful display. Right now I am in San Diego and hope to get a few moments on the beach and I will look for some too.
ReplyDeleteBlessings!

ReplyDeleteThank you so much Karen, I have always enjoyed organizing my home and "stuff"!!! When I was younger, I use to hide my love for organizing from family and friends because everyone teased me and called me Martha Stewart!! My blog has been a wonderful tool to share my love for cooking, organizing, crafting and all things related to my love of home and family.
DeleteNothing wrong being called Martha Stewart she's a smart lady. Even your glass containers sparkle. Just lovely!
DeleteHow did I miss this post? I must have been away...
