right on a winding river.
Can you just imagine how surprised I was to see a...
Ring-Necked Pheasant
wandering around my back yard on March 8th.
I mean, it's nothing like a farm here.
He came back on the 9th,
and son Scott spotted him again on the 10th.
A large Chickenlike bird, with a long pointed tail,
he sure is a "spiffy" dresser!
My bird book says they are wary of feeders and prefer tall grasses.
Poor guy must be lost, I sure am glad he got lost here.

ReplyDeleteHow cool is that? My brother used to raise them them to let go around here to introduce them back into the country side. Who knew that houses would take over but maybe someone was raising them and it got away.
