I finally did it,
I purchased an Orchid!
A "just add ice" Orchid...have you ever heard of them?
Don't you just adore the color?
So here's the scoop.
Caring for a "just add ice" Orchid is as simple as 1 - 2 - 3!
1. Water with 3 ice cubes, once per week.
2. Place in a bright, well lit location, avoiding direct sunlight.
3. 65 - 85 degrees, locate away from drafts.
I purchased this baby on October 26, 2012, for 18 buck-a-roos,
in my local Stop N Shop.
I "ice" her on Sundays and she looks quite stunning.
So far so good!!
The orchid is beautiful!

ReplyDeleteThat is a gorgeous orchid. I've never heard of using ice cubes to water them though, how interesting.
ReplyDeleteAfter mine bloomed, they've been rather lackluster. I'm hoping Spring brings some blooms. Love the color -- so unlike you Debbie! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful orchid you have. I never heard of the icecubes before. I am told orchids need water of roomtemperature. Mine are having a bath in a bucket of rainwater once a week.
ReplyDeleteI wish you a lot of luck with your new beauty if you treat them well they reward you with flowers al trough the year.
Big hugs
Wow, that is a beautiful flower!
ReplyDeleteThat is a beauty! I've never been brave enough to try keeping an orchid - I had no self confidence that I could keep it alive. :)
ReplyDeleteWow Debbie, that is a cracker. It is such a lovely colour.
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of a flower that you feed with ice. Long may she last for you :))
Just beautiful! I wonder if I could manage to not kill one of these beautiful orchids. I think I could remember the ice cubes.
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
