Saying Goodbye...

to the sunflowers.

I had some late bloomers this year.

I took these pictures on August 22nd,
some were just beginning to open,

others on the same plant, were just about there.

This one was gorgeous, stretching for the sun!!

Only nature could provide something so beautiful,
something so perfect!!

  2. Lovely pictures. Yes, with today being the first day of Fall so it is time to put the sunflowers to bed. :)
They are like your own personal sun. I think that is why I love them so much.
    Have a nice day.

  16. I love sunflowers. The make me smile. Unfortunately I can't keep them in the house for more than a day as I am terribly allergic to their pollen.

  17. We planted these a couple of summers ago, the bees enjoyed them and the birds had a special treat with the seeds I harvested and shared in the feeders. Yours are lovely, Debbie.

  25. All of my sunflowers were volunteer....from the bird feeder....so they didn't last very long. But my sister had some real beauties of several varieties and a few were late bloomers like yours. Wonderful sunflower images.
