This Red-Winged Blackbird played with me for about an hour.
He did not know how much perseverance I have.
How much I wanted this shot.
I didn't crop it because I wanted you to see exactly what I saw.
This picture is more about what I felt,
as I held my Nikon again,
and walked around this beautiful field.
That this bird stayed with me, fluttering around but never flying off.
Maybe you had to be there...but maybe you can feel it too!!

ReplyDeletethat is a gorgeous shot, debbie. really beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThat is so beautiful! Well worth the wait.
ReplyDeleteOh, I love these birds! I am always on the lookout for one to "shoot".
ReplyDeleteGood thing you waited. That's fantastic! Nice work!
ReplyDeleteI love the taupe grasses providing a perfect backdrop for the bird. Do you think he was posing just for you? Looks like it to me.
ReplyDeleteThey're beauties!! Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.
ReplyDeleteLooks like we're entering all the same memes today. :)
ReplyDeleteI love this shot! It is very soothing to look at.
Sometimes a 'natural' shot is more beautiful than a cropped one. I think that's the case here. You captured a lovely moment in the grasses.
That is a great shot. Love how he just pops out with his bold colors. Love the orange on his wing.

ReplyDeleteIt is a perfect post for WBW!
Wow Debbie, that is a cracking shot. It is a very peaceful, is that the right word, looking shot. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteIt is a beautiful shot of the Redwing Blackbird. Looks like the kind of habitat they love. I am happy that you have your camera back. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful picture! That blackbird knew it was in the presence of a special woman. Bonnie
ReplyDeleteGorgeous so peaceful...
ReplyDeleteThis has such a special feel to it ~ and then to hear you describe your time in the field makes it even better! First of all, it's hard to imaging how that wheat stem is holding the weight of the bird...it seems to me it should bend under its weight. And the striking color of the bird and his wing against the soft, pale blurring wheat is just perfect! ONE of my FAVES!!!
ReplyDeleteI am glad he was patient and posed for you!! Beautiful shot. Maybe he stayed still because he was tired of you stalking him. (grin)
ReplyDeleteGreat photo. I'm glad you had the patience to wait until you could get the photo you wanted.
ReplyDeleteCropping would have taken the feeling away from this picture.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful shot - well worth waiting for!
ReplyDeleteThat’s a splendid shot - no need to crop.

They are lovely birds, and sometimes they do seem to toy with us. I had one that kept landing between me and the sun, like he was playing with me, I would reposition and...he would move too.
ReplyDeleteDebbie, guess your patience paid off!!You did get a great shot and glad you didn't crop it...looks amazing with the background.Have a great Wednesday!
ReplyDeleteShantana
WOW... Debbie great shot!
ReplyDeleteWonderful photo of this black beauty in the lovely field!
ReplyDeleteThey are difficult to capture -- you did beautifully, Debbie.
ReplyDeleteSimplicity & beauty
ReplyDeleteFantastic capture! If you cropped the shot I think you would lose the effect. So pretty amid the tall grasses!
ReplyDeleteBreathtaking...
ReplyDeleteThere are times to crop. And there are times, to not crop. When it is perfect, already.
