"I've got my peanut..."
"did you get your shot?!"
"Thanks...I am forever grateful!!"
These pictures were taken right through the glass
at my home office window.
Sometimes I open the window and "hang out".
Here he was so close, he would have flown off.
I've always wondered why they call these "Red-Bellied Woodpeckers"
but if you look closely, he does have a little red on his belly!!
"Red-headed Woodpecker was already taken!!

ReplyDeleteHi Debbie! Oh I love this one too; more of your wonderful photos. No time wasted in your office though you may think so at times while your attention is diverted. What a perfect spot for bird-watching to re-group!
ReplyDeleteNice, Debbie! Look at those little "talons"!
ReplyDeleteA brilliant post Debbie... I captured the squirrel climbing my feeders through my windows and sometimes the moment itself outways the quality of the image...your captions put a big smile on my face after a long day at work...many thanks for that xx
ReplyDeleteHi Deb, great captures of the Redbellied and its peanut. I just love the woodies, they are wonderful yardbirds. I hope you are well and all is fine. Take care! Eileen
ReplyDeleteIt's like the red-belly doesn't want you to work so hard. Backyard birding could be a very bad influence on your productivity. I am waiting to see a true redheaded woodpecker one day. By the way, I'll join the chorus, your new header is crazy good. What a bloom!
ReplyDeleteI like that last shot, his stance, the best. They came out well for shooting through a window.
ReplyDeleteI love these guys. He's a cutie!
ReplyDeleteSo nice to see the red on it's belly. Delightful poses and shots as well as description. A really eye-catching bird.
ReplyDeleteAny work area needs a diversion or two.
That looks like a young male who is just getting his full red head.. They do love peanuts and I have a peanut feeder for them here in the yard...Michelle
ReplyDeleteGorgeous sots of the Red-bellied Woodpecker Debbie! That last shot is so woodpecker!
