How Sweet Is This!!!!!

I watched this bird for an hour or so, drinking rain water from the leaves of this tree........






I'm just not sure what it is??? A chubby female House Finch or Purple Finch?? It doesn't seem to match any pictures in my bird book!!!

Can anyone help me out???

    It is so sweet! It looks like it still has some baby fluff (for lack of a better description). Precious!

    love that gray/oh so pale purple-ish coloring. and the accent of the little red leaf ~ great shots! no bird help from me, I'm afraid!
