Is it hot where you live...is it hot everywhere?
I went out yesterday, I had an appointment and the heat was oppressive.
I have a few meals planned for here at home, nothing that will require the oven.
We will use the grill - "maybe" - or the toaster oven.
I have a chicken from Costco and I plan on making chicken salad tomorrow.
We enjoy chicken salad sandwiches for dinner with fries or pasta salad.
We also enjoy fresh vegetables cut up with a good dip.
I have been dreaming about a good deviled egg, I think I will make some.
In other "news"...
I started this 3 times and had to rip it out 3 times...the 4th time was the charm.
I am knitting this with yarn I received in my
"Beat The Winter Blues" swap box from a girl in the knitting group, Mary Ellen.
Thanks so much Mary Ellen!
This is beautiful yarn and I am really enjoying working with it.
I have vases of these blue hydrangeas scattered all about the house,
they really brighten up our space.
They elude joy and happiness...
I feel like they are a big contributor in making a house feel like a home!
My blue hydrangea bushes are in the backyard and the flowers are so heavy they have been hanging over.
I have cut a lot of them because their stems can't hold them up,
they are not in the front yard and passer-bys can't see them anyway.
I have been watching a few older movies on television.
Do you remember "Turner and Hooch"...
I love this movie and enjoyed it just a much this time as I did the first time I watched it.
A Canadian romantic drama, based on a true story, this was a little sad but very endearing.
Be sure to have those tissues close by!
We are in the knockout round of the games so you have to win your match to stay in the tournament.
This is so exciting, I have to be honest and say I forget about the other countries.
I have only watched the USA games as I know a little bit about the team,
and so son Mike and I can share the excitement together.
That's a wrap...I hope it is a little cooler where you are!

It has been hot and dry in Colorado, and sadly we have many wildfires burning in our state--the air quality is poor because of the fire smoke, so I have been staying indoors most of the time. It will be a quiet 4th as fireworks have been banned from many areas due to the fire risk, but I always liked watching the Macy's NYC firework show on TV as that brings back memories of when i lived in NYC. Stay cool, enjoy your knitting and have a wonderful month of July!
Hello,
It is too hot, I try to get outdoors for my walk early in the morning.
Your hydrangeas in the house look beautiful.
Congratulations to the USA team, I hope they win in the knockouts. Take care, have a great day!
Hello friend. The hydrangeas are so beautiful. I love them! My favorite! I haven't seen Turner and Hooch in YEARS! It was a movie I enjoyed! Stay cool! Oh, I was LITERALLY NO LIE thinking of a deviled egg this morning. LOL!
It's 🔥 SO HOT here too. AND HUMID!! Debbie I think I've said it before but your hydrangeas are so beautiful they don't even look REAL!! LOL 😆 . Love the pretty bouquets! Be careful and stay cool!
Heat isn't so bad here in western Md. In the high 80's but a nice breeze.
I remember Turner and Hooch and liked it too. :)
The yarn you are using looks very nice. I too enjoy knitting and always a project or two going.
It has been hot in the UK and Europe ... too hot!
Stay as cool as you can.
I do like your blue hydrangeas.
All the best Jan
It was 99 today and will be 100 tomorrow, 98 on Saturday. I won’t be going far either. Congratulations to the US team. How exciting for you and your son to share this enjoyment. Always fun to see the start of your knitting projects. We are having chicken salad tomorrow too I love those Costco chickens but today I had 2 chicken breasts that I poached. We had them sliced and made up sandwiches on rolls with one. Tomorrow we will make chicken salad with the other. Deviled eggs sounds wonderful so thank you for reminding me how much I enjoy them. Your hydrangeas are a treat to see. Happy Friday, happy weekend and Happy July. Stay cool!
Hi I popped over from Denis's blog. Love your beautiful hydrangeas. The yarn looks beautiful but don't you find it hot to knit in summer? I guess you have aircon. We are in winter now so our temperatures are good. Not too hot and not too cold. Those temps in New Jersey are really hot. I think we might be in for a hot summer next December. I loved seeing the sand sculptures. They are amazing. How clever are these people. We are enjoying the World Cup too not that Australia will do any good as it is not a popular sport here, its all Rugby or Australian Rules Football. USA is doing well I hope they go all the way.
It's been way too hot out for me. I'm ready for a bit cooler. Those hydrangea are beautiful. Mine dont have a single bud on them.
I thought it was hot here, you are the winner..ahaha. Lovely color of yarn.
Same here with the weather and super stormy, though today looks promising all day. Keep cool and comfy!
I've not seen Turner movie though I think if I recall, there's a funny scene in the car. Flowers are pretty. Not using the oven sounds good. Do you ever air fry? I love using the air fryer lid. Wishing you a yummy weekend. Cheers, Ivy.
I'm north of you and we had such a bad storm last night that power is out all over town. (not ours, thankfully) It's been a good year for hydrangea - mine are loaded too!
No it is HOT here too, we have had Extreme heat warnings every day for over a week now, a tad better today but still hot. I give you a lot of credit for not giving up on your knitting, it is looking great!
Yes having fresh flowers sure is nice in the house.
I will have to check where I can watch that Still mine movie.
