Up, Up and Away...

We visited a "new to us" Balloon Festival at the Burlington County Fairgrounds.
This colorful event,
features tethered balloon rides, live music, and food trucks.
The event ends with a balloon glow and a laser light show.

Different than any other Balloon Festival we have attended, it was a lot of fun.

On their website it said that this show often sells out,
It was an hour from home,
we did not want to chance it selling out, so we arrived when the gates opened.

We got a great spot, under a tree...and spread out our picnic table cloth.
We have attended different balloon festivals in the past, this was not our first rodeo.
We came armed with snacks, games to play, reading material, and some knitting to work on.

There were a lot of food trucks...and when I say "a lot", there were "a lot".

Fun for the kiddo's

The hubs went and got this chicken kabob stick, with white rice and vegetable spring rolls...
this was so good.

We also enjoyed these Mini-Pancakes with maple syrup, chocolate sauce, banannas
and some type of crumble topping...they were really good.

The sky got dark, we had a few sprinkles...and then a small piece of a rainbow appeared.

The evening sunset was so pretty as the anticipation of the lighting of the balloons drew near.

The balloons were tethered.

In addition, there was a laser light show and music as the bloons were lit.
I have never seen the balloons at night before and it was an astounding sight.

Looks like a super duper lotta foodie trucks. Neato. PS: Love making and eating mini pancakes. Used to call them sliver dollar pancakes, back in the day.

I'm going to remember this -- you are so smart bringing games and knitting to enjoy while waiting. So smart! It looks like a great event.

What an adventure! The balloons look like they're going to start a fire! Well, I guess there's a little fire inside. Nice day! Linda in Kansas

you went well prepared with things to do until the balloons took over the show. That is a lot of food trucks. Now worry about going hungry there..

They have them here too and it is neat to watch them light up and take off. Glad you didn't get too wet. I guess they did have a lot of food to chose from for sure :) So fun to experience something for the first time!
