The Iris...

- a bold, elegant orchid like bloom, sword shaped pedals with basal foliage -
Their distinctive 6 petaled flowers have 3 outer hanging pedals and 3 inner upright pedals.
They can be bearded or crested but without a doubt, they are always spectacular,
Each color has its own special meaning.

Purple Iris - Most iconic, often linked to royalty.
Blue Iris - Symbolizes faith and hope.
White Iris - Represents purity and spiritual connection.
Yellow and Orange Iris - Bring cheer and warmth to any setting.

New beginnings are often linked to springtime blooms!

  17. Irises always have such a graceful presence and your photographs capture that beautifully. I like that you included the meaning behind each colour because flowers often carry more symbolism than people realize. The purple and blue varieties especially stand out with their richness and elegance. Posts like this are a lovely reminder that nature quietly marks the beginning of new seasons and new chapters in life. I recently shared a new post on my blog too and would love for you to read it when you have a moment www.melodyjacob.com

  21. Do you have all those colors in your yard? They are so lovely. We have two different kinds in our yard.

  22. Irises, especially the purple ones, are a favorite of mine as well, Debbie. We had them in our front yard garden years ago in VA. The only "problem" was that they were rather short lived and some would topple over from the top heavy large bloom.
