"Filling Your Cup"
by definition means to practice self care by engaging in activities that replenish your energy,
joy and mental well being.
- Being Outdoors -
One of the most important things I do to fill my cup is being outdoors, in nature and gardening.Much more difficult during the winter but if you can go for a walk, do it,
fresh air is exhilarating!
Cut from the garden,
purchased at the florist or grocery store, flowers always make a space feel warm and cozy.
Watercolor Painting
- Journaling -
I have many...all with different themes.
The Notebook - The Family Stone...2 of my favorites.
"ps...I Love You" is another favorite movie, it gets me everytime.
Eating Well...Spaghetti and Homemade Banana Bread
Getting Enough Sleep
- Music -
Whatever's saved in your iTunes or that you listen to on Spotify.
- Nurturing Relationships -
Finding Peace
Mindfullness

These things fill my cup...tell me in the comments what fills yours?
Hello, Debbie
ReplyDeleteGreat post and photos of your "fill your cup" activities.
I like getting outdoors for a walk. I do read a lot and birdwatching is one of my favorite hobbies. Take care, have a great day and a happy week!
Your watercolor has developed by leaps and bounds, Debbie. You can tell how much you have been working. I like to bake (though on a baking moratorium till I knock off the Christmas weight!) and paint, and be with my blog folks and be with friends and people. All energize me.
ReplyDeleteSo many talents, but you forgot one of your best; photography! You can even make the common English Sparrow look special. The photos of the freshly fallen snow looked amazing as well. We are still snowless in South Dakota, but it is chilly enough where one would wear an alpaca hat!
ReplyDeleteSuch wonderful hobbies. You stay busy!
ReplyDeleteYou have some of the same I would use to fill my cup too. Flowers, gardening and I would add time with my pets. I like to needle felt, go thrifting, teaching my 4H kids something new. I find spending time with "littles" in my life make me feel more youthful and happy.
ReplyDeleteDear Debbie, beautiful photos and I love ❤️ your artistic talent. Being outdoors in nature is great advice, and I even do this in Winter, as I love ❤️ the snow ❄️ and cold 🥶 weather. However, if there is ice I try to stay inside, as I don't want to fall.
ReplyDeleteGreat post Debbie.
ReplyDeleteI think it's best to stay busy and do things you enjoy.
Oh, yes ... but make sure you do take time to sit-a-while and enjoy a cuppa :)
All the best Jan
All wonderful things to fill up your cup. For me it would probably be spending time with my daughter, doing any of the many hobies I have or just relaxing and watching tv with a hot cup of coffee
ReplyDeleteHey Debbie! Love the herby garden. LOOOOVE that. You filled my cuppa today with the minis. OMG. They are soooooo cute. I've never seen tiny ones like this and I LOVE IT. Much, much thanks.
ReplyDeleteOh your flower filled most makes me almost forget that it is freezing cold outside and everything is covered in snow.
ReplyDeleteAn inspiring post, Debbie - love all the photos of your beautiful flowers, needlework and paintings! Lots to keep your cup full, for sure! Days when I can putter around the house and garden, doing whatever I feel like doing make me the happiest. Or if one of my kids calls me on the phone to chat, or watching a movie with the Mr. Thanks for the movie tips - I've seen The Notebook, but not the others. Putting them on my list. x K
ReplyDeleteWe have a lot of the same hobbies - and all of them are great ways to fill your cup! I haven't been making (knitting and doing other crafts) much this winter, and I can definitely feel the impact on my mood. I recently started a small crochet project and it was an instant boost!
ReplyDeleteI would say you fill your cup beautifully Debbie. So many lovely things in each photo, I loved them all :)
ReplyDeleteYes! Yes! Yes!!! Most of all you shared are the exact things that fill my cup!!!!! I loved this post!!!!
ReplyDeleteI do love getting in my craft room and creating that replenishes me every time.I have a little heater in there too so I stay cozy warm while creating, another bonus :) I am lucky that most nights I sleep fairly well, and eating good does make a difference for me. I don't buy many flowers in the winter, but do enjoy bringing them in from the garden in the summer time!
