Unless you live on Mars,
you know all about the snowstorm that impacted much of the country this weekend.
It started snowing around 1 am on Sunday.
The snow fell constantly throughout the day, the sky was gray all day, the wind a constant.
It was not the pretty huge snowflakes that stick to every branch of every tree.
The flakes were more like sugar...sugar you can really feel when it hits your face.
Here on my part of the east coast, we got about 8 inches of the white stuff,
and enjoyed a wonderfully quiet day at home.
These pictures were taken around 10 am, from the second floor of the house.
It was snowing and blowing so hard, it was extremely difficult to get photos in focus.
The Junco
The plows came around 9 pm, and dumped a lot of snow at the base of our driveway.
The hubs will use the snowblower tomorrow and help those neighbors that need help.
There is one small caveat to my story....
I took my nighttime pills in the morning by mistake, those pills contain a sleeping pill...
so I missed a good part of the day.
I am hoping for better snow pictures in the morning!
I am hoping for better snow pictures in the morning!
Hello Debbie,
ReplyDeleteYour snow photos look beautiful. We had the same or maybe a little more snow here. We have to dig out today. Pretty captures of the Cardinal and Junco! Take care, stay warm! Enjoy your day and the week ahead.
Truly beautiful. Stay warm and safe.
ReplyDeleteExcellent snow photos, I like the cardinal and juno
ReplyDeleteWait .... there was a storm this weekend? lololololol. Love the birdies!
ReplyDeleteIt's still snowing here this morning. Yesterday was a total hibernation day though. I like all your photos. Snow does look pretty in pictures. That's nice of your husband to help out the neighbors. I have 3 neighbors with snow blowers and none of them ever help me even though they all know that I live alone. I do have a guy who plows for me though and he charges a reasonable price.
ReplyDeleteIt looks so beautiful but can make life miserable. The birds must have been shocked to see so much of it there.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos
ReplyDeleteHere in upper left Vermont, it looks to me to be about a foot of very light powder snow, but it might be closer to 8 inches. No biting cold wind is nice.
May
Mr. Male Cardinal looks so red against all the white. Oh no, about the pills, but, it happened on a good day when you couldn't really go anywhere anyway. We only had severe cold, no snow.
ReplyDeleteI have decided to turn lemons into lemonade. I just emptied my big freezer into laundry baskets and put everything out on the deck. Now, at long last (because there will be 3-4 days -- at least -- of sub-freezing temperatures, I can defrost that freezer!
ReplyDeleteThe birds did look chilled, Debbie, and with good reason because the bitter temps and winds are almost worse than the snow. The light snow is nice, but the wetter cling to the trees types is way prettier like what we had the previous weekend. Looking forward to more snow photos from our native NJ.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it just the prettiest. That is so nice of your husband to go out and help the neighbors.
ReplyDeleteOh....what beauty!!! That Cardinal!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI did that by mistake on vacation one year!!! We had a big day planned of hiking in the Smokey Mountains and I took a sleeping pill by accident!!!!!!! I had to trudge on half out of it because we couldn't change our plans. I slept in the car on the way and afterwards. Awful!!! LOL!
Hey, that's a great idea... if I am having a bad day I'll just take a sleeping pill and sleep through the bad. Your snow pictures are lovely.
ReplyDeleteYour snow pictures are lovely and that Cardinal is so lovely to see with his wonderful red colour.
ReplyDeleteStay safe and warm.
All the best Jan
Well done on getting gorgeous photos in all of this! Looks like you got more snow than we did. Stay cozy.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! It looks like a Christmas card! Especially the cardinal. We escaped this storm, but winter's not over yet! Glad you didn't lose power. Stay safe and warm. x K
ReplyDeleteYour photos of the winter wonderland are magnificent. I love the pic of the cardinal with the snow - that could be a Christmas card. Stay warm and enjoy.
ReplyDeleteDear Debbie, your photos are absolutely stunning. Thank 😊 you for sharing this joy...I love this.
ReplyDeleteEven with taking the wrong pills you managed to get some great pictures, that sounds like some slippery snow. We have to watch what we are doing, I accidentally took two vitamins in one day last week when I was filling my pill container, had to google if that would bw a problem.
ReplyDeleteOMG! I'm shivering just looking at your beautiful photos. As a matter of fact though, we're leaving next week for Hokkaido to attend the Winter Ice Festival. I'm a little nervous since a lot of my winter clothes are at my daughter's house in Illinois.
