Saturday Critters #626

 Tis the Season...right?
We have been checking out all of the Christmas Spots on the

Winter Bucket List

Most do not include live critters
so I am going to share a few pictures from a tree I saw in
I am reaching a little here but they are "critters".
In the Organ Room in Longwood Gardens,
there were about 10 trees decorated with handmade
ornaments from local schools, groups and clubs.

The ornaments on this tree were made by the people in

Needle Felting Fiber Art is very difficult craft,
I have tried my hand at this several times
and was not able to get the results these crafters have.
These ornaments felt really special to me.

Here are a few more highlights from the

This gentleman was playing the organ while we were there.
If you would like to read more about the organ, you can find some interesting information here.

Each tree was different,
Each one decorated with a theme, and handcrafted  ornaments.

Today's positive thought...
My heart fills with love when I think about...

  4. Those decorations and trees are stunning! I thought that was a lei of cranberries on the formal chairs, but it looks like little crystals. What are in the two glass cases at the end of the formal dining table? (Looks too big to be a moon rock. Frankinsence and myrrh?) Linda in Kansas

    1. there were beads on the back of the chairs. they could have been crystals. the area was roped off and you could not get super close, i zoomed in. i don't know for sure what was at either end of the table...it did not have a sign and when i looked at it, it looked a bit like a gem, but the shapes were very irregular. i loved this tablescape but it was so formal. our christmas celebrations would never fly at a table like this...we are very casual!!!

  6. All of the trees are beautiful but the animal felties were my favorite here, Debbie, especially the penguin I saw on the tree and that chipmunk was very realistic. I also tried felting at the library and it can be very challenging. I have a small bird and pumpkin made in the class. Hopefully, the library will have another session in 2026.

  8. Thank you, Debbie, for such a lovely Christmastime post, filled with so much love and inspiration! The critter tree is the best, very crafty idea they had. Your list is fabulous too and dinner on the train is still lingering in my thoughts!

Beautiful Christmas trees. Wonderful decorations. My living tree isn't decorated yet.
Let the third Advent candle remind you that Christmas is just around the corner. I wish you joyful moments full of hope, peace, and love for those you love most.
Wishing you a beautiful Advent Sunday.

  13. First, as a needle felted, I can appreciate all the work and hours put into that tree! Inspired me to try my hand at a few ideas for next year. I also like your Winter List. That inspired me too. Thanks.

  14. I am a needle felter and I would strive to produce any one piece as good as these. They take a very long while and this detail is excellent. I plan to step mine up a notch this year, studying with a real master of the craft and I'm excited about it. You probably saw pix of my needlefelted tree ornaments on the blog a week or so ago. Compared to these exquisite birds, I have a long way to go!

  19. All these trees are so beautiful, but I know what needle felting is, and the "critter' tree with all those fabulous ornaments is so precious. I do hope you have a beautiful Christmas.
