Look in The Gardens...

you'll find me there!!

We have been planting and weeding and weeding and planting,
I could not be happier!
The hot weather is troubling for me,
I have zero tolerance for it
but...
I continue to try because my love for gardening is so intense.

So let's take a peek at what's been going on
in the yard!!

On May 25th , the hubs and I rolled up our sleeves,
and really started to get dirty.
Seriously dirty...

Tomato Plant, purchased at the Garden Center

Cucumbers, started from seeds...

 Tomatoes
started in the house from seeds.

Bale Straw Garden the plants have doubled in size.
Peppers, Tomatoes and Eggplant

I love my new garden flag...

Started indoors, Carrots are a first for me.

 Pink and White Vinca's...

planted out front around the mailbox and in the front center garden.
The center garden's not looking so great because
I am still waiting for the Daffodils to fade completely.
The hubs planted the Vinca's around them.

Today, May 27th...

we the hubs got the Potatoes started,
I used store bought potatoes and let them sprout.
I LOVE this bag, seriously
it has a velcro opening in the front,
you open it during harvest and all your potatoes will fall out.
I'll keep you posted on that one!!

 Two Eggplant

Beefsteak Tomatoes from the Garden Center
I am going to have a contest and see which Tomatoes do better.
Garden Center versus those started indoors with seeds.
I hope my seeds win, fingers crossed!

My Knockout Roses are so pretty,

they have lot's of blooms and tons of buds!!

I am trying to "pretty up" the new fence...

although, it's very pretty on it's own!!

The walkway to the front door...

we moved the wreath off the front door and to the side,
just in case anyone decides to come back.

The white Azaleas are so pretty right now,
they look a' lil like popcorn!
In about a week the Daylilies will be in full bloom.
That is when I love them most.
After that, I don't love them much at all...they sure are a lot of work.

Everything is planted and most of the beds are weeded, for now.
Have you guys been playing in the dirt??!!

What I'm Crushin' On!!

I have developed some serious crushes on a few recent purchases.

Garden Picks, half price at Barlow's Flower Farm,

these ended up being about 3 bucks each!
I sealed them good and they are already in the garden.

 Awesome Gardening Gloves from Target,
2 pair for 5 bucks,
tried them out and they. are. amazing.

 Purple paper clips, 1 buck...
needed...why yes...
at Staples in order to bring our total high enough to use our coupon.
So, free, for me!!

 These note cards...
are simply gorgeous, and come with a gift of sorts, a recipe.
Four for 10 bucks, 2 dollars each, they are so beautiful.

I purchased these online from a blogging friend,
Gillian Olson at PS Whimsy Behind The Brush
Her food card collection can be found here.
I use these cards for all occasions and need to order more.
The beauty and quality is unmatched.

 Just Peachy

Cherry Jubilee

And last but definitely not least...

this personal fan from Target.
Twelve bucks, plugs into a USB port,
and works like a charm.
What I love most about it, well, it's the breeze...
but coming in a close second is, no cord to trip over.

So there you have it, new crushes, making life pretty, cool and fun!

On My Needles ~ Still...

My Guernsey Wrap is still on my needles,
and I am so in love with it.

There are three charts to the pattern,
A, B and C, some have to be completed two or three times.
I have finally made my way to chart C.
Three skeins of yarn are needed to finish the wrap,
I just opened number three.
This project has been sheer joy to work on,
I adore the yarn choice and the color,
and the "bind-off" is in sight!
It is currently 49 inches long and looks like this...

It won't be long now!!

Saturday Critters ~ 75 ~

They flew the coop and the nest is empty!

On May 15th it was getting very crowded in the nest,

and I knew it wouldn't be much longer!!

On May 15th, I found them playing in the side yard.

Under cover and protected, mom was teaching them how to find worms.
She was still feeding this one,
with that cute "alfalfa spike" on the back of it's head.

I waited a few days and it was clear they were not coming back.
The nest is just beautiful, so neat and so well made.
I am going to save the nest,
spray it with a sealer and put it on a table by my front door.

We the hubs, washed the front door and the wreath,
and things around the front door are back to normal.

I like "abnormal" better, but I know it was time for them to go!
