More Knitting!!

I love to knit, I love to knit!!
Have I mentioned that I love to knit??
hehehe, this is ridiculous!
At this point, I do believe, I could knit in my sleep.
I know for sure, I am "counting" in my sleep.
Knit two, purl two, knit two, purl two...makes the cool brim of the hat.

This one is for Scott. I worked on this in Connecticut,
he saw it while we were there and loved it.
I finished it, all by myself on the ride home.

Once home, I started another one with the same Alpaca yarn,
because I love this yarn so much.
The second one is for Mike, twin hats for my Irish twins.

So whats a girl to do when she is "out" of yarn??
hehe, you know, back to the farm she goes.

I hope my pretty little box can hold all that yarn.

This is pretty shades of light purple.

I am going to use the mason jar to hold all my knitting needles.

This is my knitting corner.

This pretty yarn is shades of cream.

They sure do know me around the farm.

I have so many hats done,
everyone on my gift giving list may be getting "two" hats this Christmas!!

So...have any of you starting preparing for Christmas?
I have a few other very creative ideas
for handmade Christmas gifts.
Pinterest inspires me!!

Are you on Pinterest?? Do you love it??

Lighting the Way!!

Lighthouses are one of my favorite places to visit when
vacationing in a seaside community.
The New England lighthouses did not disappoint.
Pictured are a few of the many we saw while we were away!!

Pictured first is the lighthouse in Stonington, Ct.

We were in Stonington on August 17, 2014

Next up, the lighthouse in Mystic, Ct.

with the hubs on August 17 as well.

The next lighthouse was in Watch Hill, Rhode Island

we visited here on August 18th.

In Mystic, this old lighthouse was purchased and restored to it's
original appearance and is now a personal residence.
I am certain this would be the best place to be on a nice day ~
but what about a stormy day, oh, I am not so sure about that!!

I found this fun gate in Stonington, Connecticut,

wonderfully presented and I loved the stone work around it.

I am so happy to be sharing this pretty gate with

Merry ~ Go ~ Round

The Famed Flying Horse Carousel, in Watch Hill Rhode Island...
This is the stuff, childhood dreams are made of.

A beautiful landmark, and a must see tourist attraction,
the carousel features richly detailed, hand carved, hand painted horses.

The paintings that surround the horses are lovely...

the horses feature real hair for the tails and manes.

Each summer, these horses circle thousands of miles,
their hooves never touching the ground.

From their leather saddles, the children must lean out and try
to snatch a brass ring.

A brass ring gets a free ride and an awesome summer memory!!

Watch Hill, Rhode Island

Talking to the locals is one of the best things you can
do when you are away on vacation.
While we were in Stonington, Connecticut,
I found a local kayaker who had a wealth of information about the area.

He pointed across the water he had just climbed out of,
and talked about a place called Watch Hill.
He said if you've never been, you have to go!!
He talked about an amazing seaside community,
cute shops and fabulous eateries.

He was talking about this beautiful spot in
Rhode Island.

The brochure reads:
"Pack your sense of wonder...
The remarkable beauty of this historic landmark community
will rewaken your appreciation for life's simple and best pleasures.
One of Rhode Island's most select beach resorts,
Watch Hill embodies the best aspects of New England"!!

And the shops, no words are necessary...be still my heart,
this place is amazing.

My favorite store, once you peak inside, you will not be wondering why.

The store windows are just as dreamy as the shops...

More on this magical seaside community tomorrow!
