Barn Charm #34

New Hope, Pennsylvania

Presenting a brand new working barn we found
during a day trip to New Hope on October 21, 2011.

There were lot's of farm animals and horses beyond the fences.

I think it's really beautiful...it has a different kind of charm!
And...it's all I have left. That's right friends,
this is the last of the hoarded barn pictures.

Looking For Barns, Friday Fences!!

The hubs and I went driving around yesterday,
 looking for barns.

It wasn't his idea, it was mine!!
I need more barn pictures for Tricia's Barn Charm.

I live in the suburbs but there are a lot of farms
only a short drive from home.

I live close to the ocean and rural areas also!!
Lucky me, I have the best of both worlds.

I didn't get any barn pictures, but I met a few new friends.

This gorgeous white horse,

and Chuck, aka the hubs, named this one Black Beauty.

I was careful to stay back and not invade their space.

The horses were very friendly and seemed happy to have company!!

The farms were set so far off the highway,
I was not able to get any pictures of the barns!!

We found this cute white speckled horse the day before,

this black one was on the same farm,
he seemed kind of mangy!!

Rural Thurday Blog Hop #7

Hatched...we have a baby!!

It was a miracle to see.

I believe this happened right before my eyes!!

When I first arrived at the nest, I could only see a little something.

Just a hint of baby breaking through the egg.

For anyone who follows along,
you know there are 2 eggs. So far I have only seen one baby.

I will keep an eye on the nest but
I won't be taking any more pictures right now.
I will wait until the second baby hatches,
and the babies are a little bigger.
Mom will be leaving the nest to get food
and to make room for the babies growth,
that will be a better time for more pictures.
This picture is not cropped,
I was this close to mom and I don't want to upset her while she is
trying to hatch the second egg.

So that's my rural story and I'm sharing it with

Being Happy...

finding joy...
For me, it's everywhere!!
An afternoon wasted spent with the Nikon in my hand,
and a view of my feathered friends defines one of my happiest days.

I have a new lens, Nikon's 55 - 300,
let me show you what that baby can do!!

White Breasted Nuthatch

Blue Jay

My Blue Jays are very good sharers.

Male Northern Cardinal

Mourning Dove

Male House Finch

Male House Sparrow

Female House Sparrow

I think this is a Hairy Woodpecker,
because of his longer bill.

Male American Robin

Mr. Squirrel was very happy also!!

Fresh Cut Lilac's to fill the house with perfume.

My happiest moments are those spent with my family.
The hubs is always here but sometimes I miss my boys.
Then I remember I must fill my own heart with joy
and I don't have any trouble doing that!!

Make yourself happy and others will feel your joy!!

We're Expecting!!

Twins...and I could not be more excited!!

The hubs found the nest and he was overjoyed to share it with me.
We peaked in, and she slowly slid off the nest,
to show us her soon to be babies!!

She flew off for a few seconds and I was able
to capture this image.

She returned quickly!!

So we're having babies and I am beyond thrilled!!
Stay tuned!!

Barn Charm #33

I am starting to run low on my "hoarded" pictures for Barn Charm.

I only have a few left.
So this week, let's have some fun!!

Applegate Farm
Freehold, New Jersey

That's right friends, it's an ice cream parlor,

with it's own silo and tractor!!

We did not share a sweet treat, as they were closed.
Bummer!!

Dear Chuck, we need to take a road trip, asap,
so I can restock my Barn Charm Pictures.
I prefer Hershey, Pa., they have awesome barns,
great food and your favorite, chocolate.
Aren't I thoughtfull?!?!

Our Smithville Adventure

On March 30, 2012, we day tripped to Historic Smithville, New Jersey,
a great place to visit in Southern New Jersey.

I have had so much to write about since then,
I never got around to sharing this amazing trip with you guys.

It's loaded with unique shops, really good restaurants,
cobblestone paths, (this one happen to be brick)
lot's of history and charm.

It was a gorgeous day, warm and sunny,
there are lot's of unique things to see here in this village like town.

The Smithville Railroad Co.

With a cute little train for the kiddos.

The shops...

Crafting Cellar

We did not go in but it was a cute place, for young adults.

If you happen to love cheese as I  do,
this is the place for you!!

If you love to cook, me not so much.

I have 32 pictures of the Bumble Bee Bake Shop,

lucky for you, I will only share these two.
The decor was all about bumble bees.

We ate here, at The Smithville Inn.
This sign is made entirely of sand, that's how we do it in Jersey!

I forgot to take pictures of the food but it was amazing.

If you are ever in the area, make sure you stop here.
You won't be disappointed!!

A Clever Titmouse

He came for breakfast,
as I was trying to decide what I would write about today.

He got his seed, but could not crack it open.
I was going to say "he got his nut"
but something about that seemed wrong!!

Can you see the sunflower seed between his little feet??

He finally opens it and enjoys the nut inside.

Must be a male,
after enjoying a good meal, he fluffs his feathers.

Saying thank you for the seeds.

Posing...

Do you think this is my good side??

Or perhaps this is my better side??

He was done and he flew off.
These pictures were taken 5 minutes ago,
straight out of the camera, only the "seed" picture was cropped.

And just like that, I had today's entry.
I barely got out of the office chair.
I do get work done occasionally, but I mostly goof off.

Good thing I "work" for the hubs!!
